The Opportunity
The USAA Bank Marketing team is a growth engine for the bank, with a laser focus on our mission. We are looking for a Director, Bank Marketing Campaign Audience Management who will share our passion to serve those who have served.
This position will support the Bank Marketing team, overseeing audience execution for direct mail and email campaigns. Continually evaluate and strengthen the process and ensure quality of audience development in support of bank growth goals, identify opportunities to optimize across members’ journey to improve member experience and drive member conversion. Collaborate with key stakeholders on audience strategy, campaign planning and analysis, and provide strategic consultation based on data analytics. Additionally, this person will be responsible for leading and developing a team of high-performing campaign analysts in the execution of complex campaigns through Adobe Marketing Systems. Responsible for hiring, developing and evaluating personnel.
Maintain strong partnership with channel execution and effectively translate strategy into execution, working closely with enablement teams to identify and provide requirements for system modifications, new tools, recommended tech priorities that improve day-to-day processes, speed to market and insights.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, or Charlotte, NC. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do:
- Ability to leverage extensive practical and industry knowledge within a marketing field and to integrate critical information from many diverse areas.
- Applies and/or develops advanced marketing concepts.
- Provides input to senior managers in developing and establishing marketing policies.
- Provides general direction to and review of marketing programs and staff.
- Develops organizational policies and authorizes implementation of same.
- Responsible for work prioritization important to the overall success of all aspects and phases of the organization, the execution of which may involve in the complexities of day today operational problems.
- Directs the planning, execution, and analysis of company marketing program to include the creation, coordination and implementation of distribution schedules across direct mail and email channels.
- Develops strategic and operational marketing plans for product offerings and member programs.
- Partners with Client Management, Integrated Marketing and creative agencies to develop market goals and objectives and to create/implement marketing plans and strategies to achieve goals.
- Responsible for achieving market performance goals.
- Monitors, evaluates and adjusts company specific marketing plans to meet market performance measures.
- Reports campaign results to senior management.
- Participates in the development of new products and services, new marketing strategies and new channels of distribution to ensure products meet the needs of members.
- Creates and allocates budgets to support the various marketing plans.
- Responsible for cost effective expenditures.
- Responsible for providing systems support for the marketing function.
- Provides guidance to system users groups and application design teams.
- Approves system modification work orders and recommends priorities.
- Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
- Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- 8 or more years of experience in working in marketing field, to include 4 or more years experience in direct supervisory experience or leading marketing efforts of the highest complexity.
- 4 or more years of leadership or management experience.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office.
- Demonstrated experience influencing business decisions.
- Demonstrates leadership in managing teams, large scale projects and people (coaching, performance management and employee development), influencing business strategies and solutions, and applying innovative approaches to address business problems and solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate cross functional teams, sell ideas and obtain Senior Management endorsement, and deliver results. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
What sets you apart:
- US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner.
- Intellectually curious with the ability to understand and structure complex audience targets into relevant requirements
- Hands-on Experience implementing and operationalizing strategic technology solutions (i.e. SAS, Adobe marketing platforms, Aprimo, PEGA) used to inform marketing strategy and execution.
- Knowledge of owned and channels (Email, Direct Mail, Outbound Call, etc.) along with processes and capabilities in support of channel execution
- Knowledge of Leads based marketing, audience and performance models, audience-based data and targeting, as well as optimizing across a customer’s journey
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple workstreams, initiatives, and deliverables simultaneously
- Strategic consultant with experience mapping out a strategic roadmap with marketing leadership
- Use data and analytics to build iterative action plans with a keen sense of process.
- Technical Proficiency: In-depth understanding of marketing technologies (automation platforms, CRM, databases, ESPs, analytics) and a willingness to adopt new technologies
- Data-driven approach: strong analytical skills to measure campaign performance, identify insights and optimize strategies.
- Innovative and Growth Mindset: Forward-thinking and continuously seeking ways to improve and innovate.
Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $127,310 - $243,340.
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
