Summary of Job Duties:
The Assistant Director for Student Government Leadership serves as the primary advisor to the Associated Student Government (ASG). The Assistant Director proactively and strategically plans and develops efforts that foster the development of student leaders in all branches of ASG. Responsibilities include: manage comprehensive, co-curricular programs for student government, including developing, implementing, and assessing leadership programs that contribute to student learning; effective advising of student government leaders and programs; effective management of ASG elections; stewardship and oversight of ASG budgets; overseeing annual revision of ASG documents including ASG code/constitution; serves as a direct advisor for the ASG Executive Committee, and as a resource to organizational officers and members. The Assistant Director also provides general organizational support. The Assistant Director position reports to the Sr. Advisor to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. At times, work hours will fall outside the traditional 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
Experience with college student government advisement or similar student leadership program
Experience in facilitating and developing leadership programs for students and student groups that provided cultural, educational, and/or social activities
Experience in large event coordination, goal setting, and strategic planning
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of Student Development Theory
Basic budgeting skills
Time management and organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to develop student leaders within specific competencies utilized in their cocurricular experiences
