Job description

We are seeking an Awards Program Manager who will be responsible for program management of the Vice Provost for Research’s institutional awards portfolio, including but not limited to Catalyst (supports early career faculty), Discovery (supports interdivisional research endeavors), and the President’s Frontier Awards (supports exceptional faculty). These programs represent part of the largest institutional commitment to faculty research in the country. This position will report to the Senior Research & Analytics Manager.

*While this position is considered remote, the ideal candidate should be local to Baltimore/DC for required in-person presentations, meetings, and events.

  • Coordinate award announcements with stakeholders and University/VPR communications.
  • Maintain collaborative and communicative partnerships with award donors, co-founders, and other stakeholders.
  • Present outcomes of the pre-award process to leadership as requested.

  • Track and maintain all award data in a central shared database.
  • Ensure quarterly reimbursement of all accounts with the UA finance team.
  • Respond and resolve all inquiries in a timely manner. Requests may include but are not limited to the extension of project periods and updates on award funding balances.
  • Bring to attention and consult with manager when situations/concerns arise that need to be addressed before they escalate.

Programming/events

  • In partnership with the Sr. Events Coordinator, plan and execute award-related programming.
