The Admissions Advisor carries out recruitment and admissions related activities for the Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies (Georgetown SCS) programs in the oversight of the management of more than 4,000 applications annually to Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies. The Admissions Advisor is key to continued success at SCS and continued growth and sustainability of enrollments; and plays a role in successfully recruiting students for new programs launched by the School.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Manage and implement admissions recruitment plans specific to the programs within their portfolio and create a customized relationship-based advising for programs assigned by the Director of Admissions and Executive Director of Enrollment Management.
Employ outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and a strong customer service orientation; and in interactions with prospective students, the incorporates aspects of the roles of facilitator, coach, customer service representative and sales representative.
Because one-on-one admissions counseling to diverse populations is an important responsibility of this position, seek out and counsel prospective applicants on the admissions process and opportunities for study at Georgetown SCS - primarily by in-person appointments, recruitment events, phone calls and email.
Administer the successful implementation of programs designed to recruit targeted prospective applicants to assigned programs; attends college fairs and other community events, presenting the benefits of a Georgetown SCS education.
Facilitate the application process for prospective students and maintain admissions systems and data, helping to grow targeted programs while maintaining correct size for others.
Serve as the lead POC for reviewing applications for admission to SCS and manage an Admissions Review Committee for each program assigned to ensure accurate review of all student applications and compliance with federal laws and regulations.
Collaborate and lead a team of academic program staff and faculty directors on information and file sharing while determining the best fit for success in our applicant pool - reviewing applications for quality, ensuring accuracy and legitimacy of documents, calculating cumulative GPAs, and reviewing academic courses toward determining admission to SCS.
Take on a role with technological aspects within the admissions office - learning and knowing the Banner, the application system (Apply Yourself and Connect), as well as CRM software systems, running feeds, adding data, and working within student records.

Daily interaction SCS applicants
Daily interaction with different areas of SCS and GU, particularly Academic Programs, Strategy, Marketing and Enrollment Management
Daily interaction with processing and document side of Admissions
Joins all SCS employees in supporting Tropaia and Commencement
SCS is dependent on Admissions Advisors to meet business objectives through recruitment of new students - working with temporary employees and student employees who assist in the data processing during times of high volume, and serving as mentors to these temporary and student employees. They work with applicants to make sure that they complete applications, that decisions about their admission are reached quickly, and that they are then registered by the program manager
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
2+ years of progressive experience in an organizational setting
Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with database maintenance
Detail-oriented team player with ability to provide high levels of service
Strong knowledge CRM and Application Systems, such as Salesforce and Banner preferred

The expected pay range for this position is $41,926.00 - $53,561.04 USD per annum.
Georgetown University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as, but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity and external market pay for comparable jobs.
Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$20.16 - $31.30
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
