Job description

Air is a Creative Ops System for creative teams. Our product automates the mindless tasks that creatives and marketers do every day to manage content and unlocks creativity through image recognition, automated versioning, and approval workflows. We launched in March 2021 and have raised +$70m from world-class venture capital groups including Avenir, Tiger Global, Headline Ventures, Lerer Hippeau, WndrCo, and Slack Ventures.

This role requires in-office attendance at least 3 days/week in New York City.

The Role

A Product Lead at Air will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our product initiatives. As a senior IC, you are responsible for understanding customer needs, driving research initiatives, and leveraging data insights to inform product strategy. Your expertise will shape long-term product strategies, drive alignment across the organization, and consistently deliver high-quality work.

The key competencies and responsibilities of a Product Lead include:

Product Ownership

  • Own the product roadmap, driving cross-functional strategies and coordinating efforts across teams to execute.
  • Drive the product development process from problem identification to feature handoff ensuring clarity and alignment at every stage.
  • Lead day-to-day pod work, like unblocking design and engineering teams and managing sprint rituals.

Insight & Strategy

  • Engage with existing and prospective customers to deeply understand their needs and translate those insights into product opportunities.
  • Define and execute the research initiatives that inform product direction and strategy.
  • Use data to establish success metrics and iterate on product performance.
  • Identify and evaluate market trends and customer needs to uncover new opportunities for innovation within your product area.
  • Define metrics to track and measure customer and business benefits for key projects, partnering with stakeholders to ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Shape long-term product strategies across the business, even in ambiguous areas, ensuring alignment with company-level strategy.

Collaboration

  • Build trust and establish strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the business, co-creating strategy and driving alignment.
  • Facilitate concept explorations, problem identification, and hypothesis development in complex problem areas, collaborating with multiple teams to form effective approaches.
  • Craft clear narratives around product strategy and ongoing initiatives to gain buy-in and inspire others, effectively communicating context, reasoning, and enthusiasm to ensure team alignment and engagement

Requirements

  • You have 6+ years of experience in product within a fast-paced, high-growth environment, ideally in SaaS or technology-driven businesses.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience presenting design concepts, strategy, and research findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead product development processes, balancing customer needs with business objectives.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience using metrics to evaluate success and drive decision-making.

Benefits

Our company culture was built around a tireless pursuit to be the best at what we do. We're entrepreneurial and focused: tackling problems head-on without ego. We communicate with empathy. We speak directly, listen thoughtfully, and ask questions. We previously worked out of a cozy warehouse in Brooklyn, but are currently distributed between our two hub cities in New York City and Toronto.

Air contributes to medical, dental, and vision insurance and dependent coverage. We offer a generous work-from-home stipend, professional development reimbursement, and unlimited vacation days. Although we are still early stage, we are always seeking ways to invest in the long-term health, wellness, and continued education of our employees.

At Air, we believe that it takes a diversity of thought, culture, race, sexual orientation, and outlook to build a world-class business. We value unique contributions and welcome people of all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives to join us at Air.

The compensation range for this role is USD $152,000 to $228,000.
