Interim/Consultant Director Facilities – Make an Immediate Impact
Genmab is looking for an experienced Interim/Consultant Director of Facilities (6-month period) to lead and optimize our facilities in Utrecht. This is a unique opportunity to join our Global Facilities Leadership Team and ensure seamless operations while creating a positive and impactful onsite experience for employees. It is a hands-on role where you’ll immediately take the lead in driving strategic initiatives and maintaining operational excellence. The position requires 80% onsite presence in Utrecht, Netherlands, and is ideal for a skilled leader ready to hit the ground running.
In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of facility management, from daily operations to leading strategic projects. You will collaborate closely with colleagues across the organization to align with Genmab’s goals and foster a culture of quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement. This role requires a determined leader who excels in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
As Interim/Consultant Director of Facilities, you will:
- Develop and implement strategic plans for facility management, including seating capacity planning and supporting site growth.
- Lead and handle a high-performing Facilities team, ensuring operational excellence and providing mentorship to team members.
- Supervise safety, security, and compliance, ensuring all facilities meet local environmental and safety standards.
- Run facility-related projects, including renovations, expansions, and new construction, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Optimize vendor management, procurement strategies, and budget controls to improve value and efficiency.
- Drive sustainability efforts aligned with Genmab’s ESG goals, including reducing carbon emissions and improving energy use.
You’ll play a vital role in ensuring our facilities operate smoothly while giving to strategic projects that support the company’s growth and sustainability goals. Your ability to lead, make critical decisions, and collaborate in a matrixed environment will be key to your success.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience in a corporate environment with a consistent record in facilities management. (Experience in biotech or pharma is a plus.)
- Strong leadership skills with significant experience handling and developing complementary teams.
- Exceptional decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills, with fluency in both English and Dutch.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to adapt quickly and prioritize effectively.
- Attention to detail, service orientation, and a strong ability to work in cross-functional settings.
- Advanced digital literacy, including proficiency in MS Office.
