The Role

The HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental) Coordinator plays a critical role in implementing company safety policies and providing environmental health and safety support. Reporting to the Director of HSSE, this cross-functional leadership role collaborates closely with the Solutions department to create and maintain a safe work environment. The HSSE Coordinator will coach field operations team members and office staff, promoting behaviors and work processes that align with Cypress Creek's safety culture.

We are seeking an experienced and responsible safety professional who is passionate about creating safe work environments and preventing injuries and accidents. Your expertise will help ensure compliance with occupational health and safety (OSHA) guidelines while fostering a proactive safety mindset across the organization.

 

Safety Coordinator duties and responsibilities

  • Policy Enforcement: Implement and enforce Cypress Creek Renewables (CCR) safety policies and programs.
  • Safety Culture Promotion: Drive a strong safety culture by actively engaging with employees and promoting safe practices.
  • Employee Training: Advise and guide employees on safety-related topics, ensuring they understand and comply with safety standards.
  • Safety Meetings: Prepare and conduct monthly safety meetings to communicate critical updates and reinforce safety priorities.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Ensure adherence to all applicable safety regulations and standards.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement preventative measures.
  • Incident Response: Respond promptly to incidents and accidents, ensuring proper investigation and root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Incident Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on accidents, violations, and their causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular safety audits, behavior-based observations (BBOs), and safety walks to identify areas for improvement.
  • Preventative Measures: Enforce preventative measures to mitigate risks and enhance workplace safety.
  • Facility Oversight: Oversee workplace repairs, installations, and any activities that could impact employee safety.

Safety Coordinator requirements and qualifications

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a Safety Coordinator or in a similar role, preferably in a field-based environment.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of OSHA/Electrical safety standards and regulations.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with safety management information systems.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and report safety statistics effectively.
  • Organizational Skills: Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
  • Critical Thinking: Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing safety challenges.
  • Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage employees at all levels of the organization.

 

Locations: We are open to remote candidates who can travel at least 75% of the time and will support our projects in the Northeast and Pacific coast.
