Description

AVER is a fast-growing SDVOSB that has achieved significant revenue growth over the past 5 plus years with much of our work focused on Data Analytics, Mission Support, IT Modernization and Biometrics. AVER is seeking an Oracle Exadata Administrator/ DBA to support Oracle Exadata Database Machine management across a large-scale program spanning application development, SharePoint, and data services.   Join our collaborative team who values AVER’s mission, focus, and culture and to deliver exceptional client service with great people and transformative technology solutions to enable Government mission success.  
  
Responsibilities Include:  
  • Provide guidance and recommendations from in-depth technical knowledge to interpret user requirements into database designs, support the .NET development staff, and implement databases based on functional and technical specifications
  • Administer four components of IT Infrastructure across an Exadata Platform: Database, Servers, Storage, and Network
  • Provide technical expertise and support advanced On-Prem Oracle database/Exadata platform administration, including tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting multiple enterprise-level database environments, hands-on Linux administration, database installation, and enterprise database monitoring
  • Establishes and enforces standards/processes to ensure a consistent, well managed, and well-integrated IT infrastructure following proper security policies to support federal FIMSA & NIST standards
  • Configure, troubleshoot (issue identification), and patch database infrastructure issues from daily cybersecurity scans of server and system for compliance
  • Install and configure Oracle RAC database software
  • Perform Exadata version upgrade and apply Oracle patch on a regular basis to maintain Exadata system to the most current state  
  • Perform Linux system administration across two systems: 1) On-premises virtual server and 2) virtual Oracle Exadata 
  • Deploy, upgrade, configure, and operate the Oracle Multi-tenant database environments on Red Hat Linux servers
  • Implement security management across servers configure, troubleshoot (issue identification), and patch production server issues
  • Install security agents and implement security policies and patches in the Linux server to maintain system security posture to date 
  • Manage database space and requests for Exadata forecasting storage capacity needs multiple years in advance, coordinating with stakeholder leadership for technical input and funding requests to Oracle
  • Maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot all components in the Exadata Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) environment
  • Support space management, backup & recovery, and version control
  • Ensure Oracle Data Guard is configured to replicate data to the disaster recovery facility
  • Upgrade and maintain network 
  • Monitor Oracle support network and other Oracle-related security alerts to implement quarterly patching, bug fixes, security fixes, and other ad hoc patching 
Education Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analysis, or related field 
Experience Requirements: 
  • Experience with Oracle Exadata Administrator/DBA with 10+ years of technical analysis experience
  • Experience with Oracle as well as relational database concepts, database modeling, and the ability to support Oracle databases through multiple lifecycle environments from development to mission-critical production systems
  • Experience in SQL query language and be proficient in SQL
  • Experience with Oracle Exadata Administrator/Oracle DBA with 10+ years of technical analysis experience
  • Experience with Oracle as well as relational database concepts, database modeling, and the ability to support Oracle databases through multiple lifecycle environments from development to mission-critical production systems
  • Experience in SQL query language and be proficient in SQL
  • Exadata 8M-2 KVM administration.  Patching, cloning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and all other related duties.  
  • Experience with OEM 13.4 RHEL 7 upgrades to OEM 13.5 RHEL 8 and general OEM(OMS) administration 
  • Experience with Oracle DataGuard 19c setup/maintenance/troubleshooting 
  • Experience with RHEL OS upgrades as it relates to Oracle, i.e. RHEL 7.9 Hosting Oracle 19c DataGuard, upgrading to RHEL 8.0 
  • Experience with RMAN backup/recovery 
  • Experience with Oracle Grid/Database patching 
  • Ability to comply and implement proper security policies to support federal NIST standards and guidelines as well as leverage tools to perform checks against Oracle database environment following Oracle best practices 
  • Ability to work independently and with the application development teams to provide database direction to the application team in support of user requirements

  • REMOTE (Must be available 9-5 EST during regular business hours)
Security Requirements:    
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance (Public Trust)
