Job Summary

The Revenue Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the accurate recognition and reporting of revenue in line with accounting standards. They manage month-end close processes, ensure compliance with internal controls, and work with cross-functional teams to resolve revenue-related issues. This role also involves providing strategic insights to leadership, streamlining reporting processes, and leading a team to maintain financial integrity and efficiency. 


Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly complex revenue journal entries
  • Provide guidance and oversite to the revenue accounting team of 4 individuals
  • Work closely with the billing, accounting, finance, and operations teams to obtain relevant revenue information, in addition to applying and recording the information into the accounting system
  • Prepare and review monthly revenue related balance sheet account reconciliations 
  • Oversee fee accounts reconciliation process
  • Lead the revenue share process which includes database management
  • Complete complex cost of goods sold accruals
  • Perform Gross Margin analytical analysis
  • Assist in the accounts receivable and collections process when needed
  • Assist in the monthly closing and financial reporting process as directed by the Controller
  • Maintain integrity of balance sheet and income statement accounts through review of account activity and balances for accuracy and reasonableness.
  • Perform financial analysis of the balance sheet and income statement.
  • Interacts with internal/external customers, vendors, financial institutions, and employees on various financial and administrative matters.
  • Support in the timely completion of the annual audit including providing audit schedules and account reconciliations to the external auditors. 
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as needed, including business process and systems optimization.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, CPA a plus.
  • Hands-on accounting and finance experience in a growth-oriented business within the financial services industry. 
  • Multi-disciplinary revenue accounting background with 3 to 10 years' revenue accounting experience. 
  • Proficient with ERP Systems (and ancillary finance systems), preferably with Intacct or similar system.
  • Must have advanced skills with Microsoft Excel (i.e.- VLOOKUP’s & Pivot tables)
  • Take independent action to achieve goals; be self-directed and driving, but also can cooperate with others to share information, resolve issues and achieve common goals.
  • Possess strong time management skills with ability to multi-task and work under tight timelines.
  • Good interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal skills
  • Very strong drive, dedication, and work ethic with a bias for action and superior execution.
  • High energy and enthusiasm with a desire and willingness to be held accountable for meeting strict deadlines and reporting requirements while balancing other workload demands.
  • Ability to strive in a small company environment with a hands-on mentality.
  • Detail oriented, process oriented, and system oriented with a keen eye towards automation and process improvement.

Compensation Information

The average salary for this position is expected to be between $60,000 and $105,000/year however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We do not anticipate candidates to be paid at the top of the range however, from time to time, it may occur on a case-by-case basis.
