Builders Tradesman Insurance Services (BTIS) is nationwide insurance wholesaler focused on servicing Enterprises of all sizes with commercial insurance products.

We are seeking an experienced Surety Process and Account Servicing Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the surety process, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and surety carriers.

Key Responsibilities:

Insurance Surety Process:

  • Process and issue commercial surety bonds in accordance with company procedures and industry regulations
  • Review and verify surety applications for accuracy and completeness
  • Coordinate with underwriters and surety carriers to resolve surety-related issues
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of surety transactions
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards

Account Servicing:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with agents and surety carriers
  • Collaborate with teams to develop and help implement new growth strategies

Administrative Tasks:

  • Perform administrative tasks, such as data entry, e-filing, and record-keeping
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, surety transactions, and account activity
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience in commercial surety processing and account servicing
  • Strong knowledge of surety products and services, including:
    • Commercial surety (license and permit bonds, fidelity bonds, miscellaneous bonds)
    • Surety terminology (e.g. penal sum, obligee, principal)
    • Surety process and procedures
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple tasks and be able to think outside of the box
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and insurance software applications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred

Pay Range:

$21-$28 per hour, with the higher end of the range reserved for highly experienced candidates who possess advanced skills, extensive relevant experience, and deep industry knowledge. The final rate will be determined by factors including geographical location and specific qualifications.
