Crisis Center Nurse LPN/RN - Weekend Nights

Job Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse LPN/RN to join our Crisis Center Stabilization team during weekend nights. This pivotal role involves providing both direct and indirect patient care in a psychiatric setting, while upholding the highest standards of Professional Nursing Practice. As part of an interdisciplinary team, you will be essential in coordinating care and services for individuals experiencing behavioral crises.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care, including health assessments, pain evaluations, vital signs monitoring, and general daily care for individuals at the Crisis Stabilization Center.
• Administer medications, including medication passes, injections, and oversee self-administration by patients.
• Manage medication records by completing and updating the Medication Administration Record (MAR), as well as counting controlled substances.
• Educate patients regarding their physical health and medications.
• Collaborate with team members, residents, families, physicians, psychiatrists, hospitals, and pharmacies to ensure comprehensive care.
• Document and report any observable changes in patients’ behaviors and physical conditions.
• Assist colleagues with various diagnostic and treatment procedures.
• Provide training and orientation on procedures and protocols to new staff members.
• Participate in assigned team and leadership meetings.
  
  

Required Skills

• Strong verbal, written, and nonverbal communication abilities.
• Effective cognitive, organizational, and emotional skills to manage multiple stressors.
• Capability to interact with patients who may be agitated, both verbally and physically.
• Experience in delivering direct patient care for adult populations.
  
  

Qualifications

• Valid LPN or RN license in the state of Missouri required.
• Associate’s degree in nursing is mandatory; a Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.
• A minimum of one year of experience in psychiatric nursing; experience in hospital or acute care settings is advantageous.
