BOOST LLC is assisting one of our award-winning consulting clients, in recruiting for a highly motivated Business Development Director to lead federal business development efforts and oversee a broader business development team, including federal, state/local/tribal/territorial (SLTT), and commercial sectors. This key leadership role will drive the capture of new corporate opportunities and shape innovative solutions to meet client needs. The Director will collaborate closely with Portfolio Managers to support and contribute to larger capture efforts.
This position offers significant influence over company policies, processes, and growth strategies. The role reports directly to the CEO and is ideal for a dynamic professional eager to make a substantial impact within a growing organization. This is a remote opportunity, with a requirement to reside within the Washington DC metro area. Occasional travel required (approximately 20%) for conferences and client meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue federal government sales opportunities, converting them into contracts and revenue streams.
- Lead capture efforts by crafting strategic proposals and solutions tailored to client needs.
- Expand the federal market presence through relationship-building with federal agencies, leveraging past performance.
- Develop strategic partnerships with industry players to enhance brand awareness and uncover collaboration opportunities.
- Navigate federal procurement processes with expertise, particularly leveraging the benefits of the 8(a) program.
- Inspire and manage the business development team, fostering a high-performance sales culture.
Expectations:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive federal business strategy aligned with revenue objectives.
- Negotiate contracts with competitive pricing and favorable terms.
- Design and implement innovative, data-driven growth strategies with measurable KPIs.
- Collaborate with leadership to drive consistent market expansion.
- Identify and assess federal opportunities in emergency management, health security, and related sectors. Contribute to proposal development and positioning strategies.
- Maintain market intelligence to stay ahead of trends and competitive movements. Represent the company at industry events to build networks and gather insights.
- Oversee branding and marketing initiatives to reinforce the company's reputation as a federal market leader.
Qualifications Required:
- Eight years minimum of business development experience, including five plus years in a leadership role within the federal sector.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of federal government structures, contracting mechanisms, and budgets.
- Proficiency with CRM tools and opportunity tracking platforms such as SAM and GovWin.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Self-motivated and collaborative mindset with a track record of driving team success.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Commitment to integrity, professionalism, and continuous learning.
Desired:
- Advanced degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
- Experience in professional services or consulting.
Salary Range: $151K–$190K (Competitive compensation, with performance-based incentives. Salary will be commensurate with experience.)
