The Role in a Nutshell:
- Project Leadership: Take charge of impactful projects across industries, ensuring environmental compliance and regulatory excellence at every turn.
- Technical Expertise: Provide expert advice on environmental regulations, permitting processes, and compliance strategies while producing high-quality reports and solutions.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and guide a talented team of consultants, supporting their growth and ensuring top performance.
- Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with clients, regulatory authorities, and multidisciplinary teams to keep projects on track and successful.
- Business Development: Play a key role in expanding our consultancy division, engaging with clients, and identifying new opportunities.
What You Bring to the Table
- A degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field (an MSc is a bonus but not essential).
- At least seven years of experience in environmental consulting, permitting, or compliance, with a strong understanding of UK regulatory frameworks.
- Exceptional problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to lead projects, meet deadlines, and manage budgets with commercial awareness.
- A proactive approach to mentoring, team management, and fostering a positive work environment.
Experience in environmental permitting regulations and compliance auditing is essential, with further experience in contaminated land consultancy being advantageous.
The Essentials
- Location: Home-based with regular travel to sites and offices across the UK (overnight stays required).
- Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, with flexibility to ensure project needs are met.
