Job description

Department: Creditor

Location: Toronto, ON

Description

Bilingual Junior Underwriter is accountable to Manager, Underwriting and is responsible for reviewing and assessing insurance applications, completing sensitive medical telephone interviews with clients and applying that information to applicable manuals. You will assist and support the underwriting team (creditor line of business) completing their daily task including ordering medical requirements, replying to email and phone inquiries.


What you will do


  • Preparation of new files of the clients;

  • Medical telephone interview with clients (new clients and renewals);

  • Underwrite and assess tele scripts and/or questionnaires;

  • Order and assess medical requirements for insurance eligibility;

  • Handling email inquiries;

  • Conduct follow-up with the clients as required.




What you will bring


  • 6-12 months of customer service experience, preferably in a call center setting.

  • Fully proficient in both English and French.

  • Excellent typing skills. Knowledge of MS Outlook and MS Word.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize tasks.

  • Ability to be agile when working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to obtain sensitive information and ensure the highest level of confidentiality.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and/or experience in health care is an asset
