Middle Java Software Engineer

Our client is an online travel company for consumer and small business travel. They own numerous well-known vacation rental online marketplaces.

Our locations are Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Colombia, Mexico and Chile. More than 100 developers offer their services all over Europe and the United States. We have 30+ pod teams that work with Web UI, Java, Kotlin, iOS, and Android that incrementally deliver functionality to the client. We have new global features every six months.

The team comprises a Project Manager and 10 developers situated in Colombia, Chile and Mexico on our side. On the client's side, there is an Engineering Manager, Program Manager, Product Manager, and a development team based in the United States.

IF YOU ARE

• A proficient Software Engineer with at least 3 years of experience working with Java 17, and 21
• Qualified with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Proficient in using Spring, Dropwizard, or similar web frameworks
• Skilled in SQL and NoSQL databases, Maven, and Docker
• Unrivalled in designing scalable and robust technical solutions end-to-end
• Confident in working with code versioning tools such as Git, as well as gRPC, Kafka, and GitHub Actions
• Demonstrating B1+ written and spoken English level to cover daily communication with the team
• Knowledgeable of Kotlin and GraphQL (as a strong plus)

• Design, develop, test, and implement high-quality software solutions that are reliable, scalable, and maintainable
• Gather requirements and conduct further analysis, adhering to Scrum practices in a fast-paced, agile environment
• Conduct code reviews
• Guide and support junior team members in adapting to standard methodologies, quality coding, design, and optimal processes
• Independently understand time and cost constraints, and the impact on other teams, to make sound resource and architectural trade-offs
• Anticipate and prevent problems and roadblocks before they occur, and present technical issues and their impact to leadership
• Continuously improve software and the development process with the Agile development team
