Job description

Blue Rose is seeking a Human Resources Federal Classification Specialist to support our work with a federal client in Reston, VA. This is a Remote role and is open to U.S. Citizens ONLY.


About the Opportunity
Blue Rose Consulting Group, Inc., seeks a skilled and experienced Human Resources Specialist to provide support services that enhance the timeliness and quality of personnel operations. This opportunity involves working within a team environment to develop and deliver essential HR classification and position management solutions for federal managers and employees.


Responsibilities
As a Human Resources Specialist, you will:

  • Serve as a technical advisor, providing comprehensive classification and position management services.
  • Analyze and classify position descriptions, determining appropriate pay systems, occupational groupings, titles, and grades.
  • Conduct desk audits and periodic reviews of position descriptions and organizational charts.
  • Prepare and maintain evaluation statements, position designation reports, and other classification-related documents.
  • Assist with organizational realignments, workforce planning projections, and development of organizational charts.
  • Train supervisors and management officials on position management and the preparation of position descriptions.
  • Provide advisory services on FLSA exemptions, bargaining unit status, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate tracking systems for taskers, requests for information, and project statuses.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Demonstrated expertise in position classification and management, including analyzing organizational structures and designing solutions for optimal employee utilization.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of Office of Personnel Management (OPM) policies, classification standards, and federal HR regulations.
  • Skills: Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills; proficiency in developing position management solutions.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with cybersecurity forms, evaluation statements, and classification-related documentation.

Additional Requirements

  • Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a federal government-issued personal identification card. Background screening and credentialing will be conducted.
  • Work Environment: Option to work remotely or from government-furnished facilities in Reston, VA; Lakewood, CO; or Sacramento, CA.
  • Schedule: Flexible work schedule (8:00 AM–4:00 PM, Monday–Friday), with compressed scheduling options available.
