JOB DESCRIPTION:

The position is responsible for providing technical and general support to all users of services in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, this includes organization and non-organization MD's, NP's, MA's, PA's, nurses, office staff and all of the other 13 hospitals in VT and several hospitals in NY, NH, ME & MA. Responsibilities include, a general understanding of all laboratory depts. (clinical & anatomical), detailed knowledge in the use of relevant computer applications including, but not limited to, Atlas LabWorks, Epic, MayoAccess, MediaLab, Sharepoint, Qgenda and Outlook. They must also have the ability to troubleshoot a wide variety of problems, escalate when appropriate, and coordinate resolution with other lab staff and additional hospital departments. Individuals provide front line phone support for a large number of applications in a complex technological and clinical environment. Lab Customer Service is staffed for up to 15 hours each day, 7 days a week to meet business needs, including coverage during the evenings and weekends.

EDUCATION:

Associate's degree (or equivalent experience) in related field required.

EXPERIENCE:

At least two years of progressively responsible experience in a fast-paced customer service environment including multi-line phone coverage and extensive computer skills. Experience with medical terminology & MS office also required.

SHIFT NOTE:

Every other Saturday with the following Monday off, and every Tuesday-Friday. Therefore, one week is Tuesday - Saturday and the next is Monday - Friday. The Saturday shift is 7:00am-3:30pm and Weekdays are 9:30am to 6:00 pm. Parking is off-site Monday - Friday and onsite Saturdays. Potential to work from home four days per week after the first year of on-site training if productivity measures are met.

SIGN ON BONUS:

$1,500 sign on bonus for eligible candidates. Current employees of UVM Health Network are not eligible. Certain terms and conditions apply.
