Job description

We are seeking a Manager Procurement for the Equipment cluster of Royal IHC  to enhance our procurement capabilities in line with our international supply chain requirements and presence.   

 

As Manager Procurement you will be responsible for merging all purchasing activities within the Equipment cluster and play a crucial role in building the Purchasing team in the Netherlands. You are experienced in procurement and subcontracting within the maritime and machine building industries and you understand the best available techniques and how to implement them into operations. You will enhance the commercial awareness of employees to maintain control over high-care subcontractors.   .  The role involves streamlining operational processes, methods, and technology development to ensure that all third-party items are delivered on time, within budget, and according to specifications.  

 

The Manager Procurement is part of the One Equipment Company (OEC) Management Team and reports to the OEC board. 

The Manager Procurement will have the following responsibilities: 

  • Oversee and mentor your team leads and procurement professionals, providing motivation through constructive feedback, empowering talent and performance management, fostering team cooperation and employability, and ensuring effective succession planning. 

  • Manage quality control (QC) policies, team, and activities as an integral component of the Equipment supply chain strategy. 

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to establish a world-class supply chain in alignment with the company's strategic direction. 

  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure continuous improvement and value creation while maintaining a competitive advantage. Negotiate contracts to secure optimal terms and conditions. 

  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure adherence to quality and delivery standards. 

  • Identify opportunities and risks within the supply chain, incorporating or mitigating them to optimize supply continuity. Develop policies to capitalize on opportunities. 

  • Continuously enhance procurement processes, systems, and methods to improve efficiency and effectiveness. 

  • Coordinate procurement activities, policies, means, methods, and capacity with the supply chain management functions of other IHC subsidiaries. 

 

The ideal candidate will bring in relevant experience and a positive track record in: 

  • Available and capable of working in the Rotterdam area, fluent in Dutch and English. 

  • Higher Vocational Education (HBO) in a technical or commercial field, such as Mechanical Engineering, Technical Management, or Business Administration, supplemented with NEVI 1 and 2 certifications. 

  • Demonstrated experience in senior procurement management roles within an international context, preferably in the maritime or manufacturing industry. 

  • A team player who remains composed under pressure, is proactive, and is willing to travel abroad occasionally. 

  • Please note that only candidates with valid EU work visa will be considered as viable candidates. 
     

Royal IHC offers you: 

  •  A gross monthly salary between 7948,- and €10579,- plus 8% holiday allowance (based on a fulltime working week).

One Equipment Company (OEC) of Royal IHC consists of four business units—Dredge Equipment, Sas-Hytop, Systems, and Services. Each unit brings unique strengths: Sas-Hytop excels in hydraulic systems for dredging and offshore industries, Systems focuses on automation and digital solutions, Services develops innovative after-market approaches, and Dredge Equipment supplies hardware for sand transportation from sea to shore. 
 

 Our primary location is in Kinderdijk, employing approximately 350 individuals. The operations conducted in Kinderdijk encompass sales, project management, engineering, procurement, assembly, and services. In Belgium, we operate a steel and iron foundry. O ur primary location is in Kinderdijk. You will work together with sales and service centers in Belgium, Houston, Dubai, Singapore, Bangladesh and Tianjin.
