Job description

Overview:

FedWriters is building a team to use digital service best practices to provide an optimized customer experience to visitors of Travel.State.Gov (TSG), the Bureau of Consular Affairs' flagship website with over 600 million page views per year. Leading the technical architecture and development of Travel.State.Gov's redesign, ensuring delivery of a modern, accessible, and user-centered digital experience. The Technical Lead will be responsible for technical approach, quality, and successful implementation.

**This position is contingent upon contract award**

 

Work Schedule and Location:

Remote: This full-time remote position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Architect and lead development of TSG using modern web technologies
  • Ensure technical solutions meet Section 508 compliance and accessibility requirements
  • Oversee integration with existing systems including Adobe Experience Manager, ArcGIS, and Google Cloud
  • Lead code reviews and implement automated testing practices
  • Guide migration from existing infrastructure to new platform-as-a-service architecture
  • Maintain high code quality and documentation standards

 

Qualifications:

 

  • 7+ years web development experience with complex, high-traffic systems
  • Expert knowledge of modern web frameworks and development practices
  • Experience with content management systems, particularly Adobe Experience Manager
  • Experience in accessibility and Section 508 compliance
  • Track record leading development teams in agile environments
  • Must possess MRPT (Moderate Risk Public Trust) clearance
