Position Overview:

Trella Health is seeking an entrepreneurial-minded and results-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to be the strategic financial executive and serve as the financial leader and trusted advisor to help Trella Health grow to over $100M in ARR. Reporting to the CEO, the CFO will serve as an integral member of the senior leadership team, working closely with executives and the Board of Directors to optimize financial health, accelerate growth, and deliver shareholder value. The ideal candidate for this role is a strategic yet hands-on leader comfortable rolling up their sleeves to drive growth and scalability.

You will own the day-to-day accounting, finance, and operations departments in a high performance, high velocity environment. You will also be a key thought partner, with a critical voice shaping Trella Health’s strategic direction and providing the data and insights needed for informed, data-driven decision-making. You will lead and execute corporate transactions, such as capital raises, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.

Location: Preferred candidates will be based in Atlanta, GA; relocations will be considered. Other ideal locations include Nashville, TN or Philadelphia, PA.

Responsibilities

The CFO will be a key member of the executive team and will design and execute the financial vision that enables Trella Health to achieve its strategic and maximize shareholder value.

  • Lead and evolve the company’s finance and legal operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across these critical functions.
  • Collaborate with C-Suite on key strategic growth strategies, including market expansion, TAM analysis, pricing optimization, and investment allocation.
  • Create short- and long-term financial strategies that include relevant financial models that align with the company business objectives, including hypergrowth and downturn risk strategies.
  • Recommend optimal financing structures and lead capital-raising initiatives to secure growth capital when needed through equity, debt, or other resources.
  • Create and implement capital allocation strategies, providing informed recommendations to maximize ROI across all business areas.
  • Define and drive initiatives that increase shareholder valuation through revenue growth, operational efficiency, and margin improvement.
  • Provide financial and legal leadership on the company’s build, buy, and partner strategies, resulting in deals and partnerships with strong ROI.
  • Analyze and implement strategies to increase recurring revenue, improve retention, and reduce churn.
  • Monitor and optimize cost structures to achieve market-leading profitability ensuring alignment with company strategy.
  • Deliver proactive, data-driven financial leadership to empower the executive team, Board of Directors, and investors with insights that fuel success.
  • Strengthen the organization’s financial infrastructure by scaling systems, tools, and processes that enable sustainable growth.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing, growth-oriented finance team that aligns with the company’s mission and objectives.
  • Establish and lead an investor relations strategy, fostering transparency and trust with shareholders through effective communication.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as CFO or a senior financial leader, preferably at various high-growth stage companies that have scaled from $25M to ~$100M.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry, preferably with a technology company.
  • Deep expertise in mergers & acquisitions, capital fundraising, and strategic partnerships to accelerate business growth and strengthen market positioning.
  • Proven ability to act as a true business partner, delivering financial insights and strategic recommendations to the senior leadership team.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with a board of directors to drive strategic decision-making, including delivering comprehensive financial insights, preparing board materials, and effectively communicating business performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Deep functional experience in FP&A and operational excellence with a strong financial and accounting background.
  • Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation, vendor and customer agreements, and ensuring compliance with financial, tax, and securities regulations.
  • Experience implementing systems and processes necessary for a growing SaaS organization.
  • Expertise in creating and leveraging real-time financial reporting, forecasting, and KPI dashboards to drive strategic outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing advanced financial systems and models that lead to measurable value creation.
  • Proven experience leading a high-performance finance organization, building a culture of accountability, excellence, and innovation.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills, with a track record of aligning teams and stakeholders around financial objectives.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
