Position Summary:
The IT Manager will work closely with the Director of Technology and the IT team to ensure that our company is leveraging the latest technology to meet business objectives. You will be responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and security of our hardware, software, and networks, ensuring they are compatible, secure, and scalable. Additionally, you will manage our internal network infrastructure, provide ongoing support for staff, and help drive IT initiatives that enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Installation & Maintenance: Plan, coordinate, and oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems, hardware, and networks, ensuring they meet organizational needs.
- Team Leadership & Development: Assist the Director of Technology in leading and mentoring the IT staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Policy Development & Implementation: Develop, implement, and maintain policies related to network security, disaster recovery, and IT infrastructure to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
- Performance Optimization: Analyze resource utilization, identify inefficiencies, and develop strategies to optimize system performance, enhance productivity, and reduce costs.
- IT Strategy & Roadmap: Establish and define IT goals, contributing to the creation of a comprehensive IT roadmap aligned with organizational priorities. Measure the progress of IT initiatives and adjust plans as needed to meet evolving business needs.
- Project Management: Manage development and integration projects that bring new technologies and systems into existing infrastructure, ensuring projects align with business objectives and are completed on time.
- Help Desk & Support: Oversee the daily activities of the help desk team to ensure timely and efficient resolution of IT support requests, as well as maintain a knowledge base for user self-service.
- Ongoing Maintenance & Support: Perform routine support and maintenance of all IT systems, ensuring the continued functionality and security of hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
- Security & Risk Management: Develop and implement security protocols to protect the company's IT infrastructure and sensitive data. Ensure compliance with security standards and policies, and conduct regular audits to identify potential vulnerabilities.
- Technology Evaluation & Innovation: Continuously evaluate and assess new technologies, tools, and systems that could benefit the company. Recommend and implement solutions that improve business operations and meet future needs.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in IT management or related roles, with hands-on experience managing IT infrastructure and teams.
- Technical Expertise:Strong knowledge of industry-standard computer hardware and software systems.
- Experience with network administration (Cisco certification is a plus).
- Experience managing on-premises servers, storage area networks (SAN), and network-attached storage (NAS) devices.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (including Power BI), Salesforce, and Azure.
- Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to resolving technical issues across the organization. Project Management & Strategy: Ability to manage IT projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are executed efficiently and align with company goals.
- Leadership & Communication: Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff at all levels of the organization, and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Security Awareness: Understanding of IT security practices, with a focus on ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of the company’s systems and data.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA, Microsoft Certified (e.g., MCSA or MCSE), or CompTIA Network+ are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
● This is a remote position; however, it may require in-office attendance for designated meetings and training sessions, as well as occasional travel to other worksites.
● The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, etc.
● Strong visual acuity for reviewing detailed documents and data on computer screens.
● Manual dexterity for operating a computer, including using a keyboard and mouse.
● Occasionally required to lift and carry office supplies or equipment up to 25 pounds.
● Clear verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with team members across the organization
● Flexibility to adjust schedules based on project needs, with occasional requests for additional hours during temporary projects.
● Capability to manage tasks that require prolonged periods of focus and concentration.
● Ability to handle the physical demands of a standard workweek, which may include occasional overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays, if needed.
