SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer conducts end-to-end testing of health data exchange workflows, ensuring accurate transmission of Admission, Discharge, and Transfer (ADT) messages and Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture (CCDA) data while maintaining compliance with IHE profiles, HL7 standards, FHIR, and TEFCA requirements. This position validates secure messaging functionality, ensures proper functioning of patient-facing systems, and develop comprehensive test artifacts for Indian Health Services (IHS) Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS). This full-time position is 100% remote.
Must be able to obtain a customer clearance (Public Trust) for access to facilities, equipment and property. Green Card holder should be in the country the last 3 out of 5 years.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 5 years of experience in manual and automated testing, including creating, executing, and documenting test plans, test cases, and other test artifacts (e.g., defect logs, summary reports).
At least 5 years of experience with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 (v2, FHIR), CCDA, or IHE profiles, including familiarity with healthcare data exchange processes (e.g., ADT workflows, Direct secure messaging, and patient portals) and TEFCA standards.
2 years of experience working in Agile environments, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, with a solid understanding of development methodologies like Agile, Waterfall, and DevOps.
Experience writing and executing SQL queries to validate data integrity and accuracy is a plus.
Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, JMeter, Postman, or HPE UFT (Unified Functional Testing) is a plus.
Knowledge of test management tools like HPE ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) or similar platforms is a plus.
Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and collaboration skills, including the ability to anticipate potential issues, devise test cases, and work closely with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders, leveraging knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) principles.
Familiarity with performance testing tools like HPE LoadRunner or Apache JMeter is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting and documentation.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Validate Direct secure messaging functionality to ensure compliance with privacy and security standards, enabling seamless communication between patients and healthcare providers.
Ensure the proper functioning of patient-facing systems, including the accurate and timely display of health information in the patient portal.
Evaluate system functionality to verify data integrity, privacy, and security across all interoperability workflows and platforms.
Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test artifacts, including test plans, test cases, traceability matrices, defect logs, and test summary reports.
Identify and document system defects, collaborate with developers and stakeholders for resolution, and validate fixes through retesting to ensure a high-quality user experience.
Design and implement automated and manual test cases to enhance testing efficiency and reliability across interoperability workflows.
Document and report test results, system performance metrics, and identified risks through detailed reports and dashboards, ensuring traceability and adherence to quality assurance (QA) standards.

The estimated pay range for this role is $90K to $107K, with the final offer contingent on location, skillset, and experience.
