Primarily responsible for verification of documents of residential mortgage applications from new loan inception to instructions to lawyers and notaries. In addition to preparing and processing all mortgage-related transactions and documents, this position requires a high degree of efficiency and organization.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Review documents submitted by the Mortgage Specialist to ensure the file is in good order and all conditions have been met.

  • Set up and administer new mortgage business and process the related financial transactions.

  • Address routine queries from internal partners.

  • Apply strong decision making and problem-solving skills to resolve situations, influence decisions and maintain strong accountability with respect to workload and responsiveness so that expectations and standards are met or surpassed within a timely manner.

  • Contribute to and support the team in meeting urgent deadlines and unexpected increased volumes.

  • Promptly respond and resolve inquiries.

  • Create and maintain strong team collaborative working relationships with internal departments by providing excellent customer service.

  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and share ideas for improvements and efficiencies and assist with implementation.

  • Ensure escalated complaint investigations consider customer experience.

  • Follow Bank policies and standards for required information, supporting documentation and processes to discharge a mortgage.

Required Qualifications:

  • General knowledge of residential mortgage business and mortgage underwriting practices an asset

  • Sound knowledge of MS Office programs, such as Word, Excel, Outlook

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Fully bilingual (French/English): The successful candidate will be required to communicate in English and French in order to support clients from various jurisdictions outside of Quebec.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous Banking experience is an asset

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Proven organization and time management skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to understand and correctly interpret legal mortgage documents an asset.

  • Willing to work flexible hours during peak season.

Salary range is expected to be between

$44,775.00 CAD - $74,625.00 CAD
