Job description

Brilliant is seeking an experienced data analyst to join our rapidly-growing, profitable, bootstrapped company. This role is pivotal in ensuring our data is leveraged effectively to drive decisions, improve processes, and help scale the company as we continue to grow. Brilliant delivers the best corporate gifting experiences in the world through best-in-class white glove service, product expertise, in-house fulfillment capabilities, and a leading proprietary technology platform.

We’re looking for someone with interest working at a company with software that supports physical products from conception to fulfillment and beyond. You’ll work with a strong team of engineers and cross functional leaders to understand and interpret our data and lead the charge for improved reporting and dashboards across the company. We’re looking for folks with a bias for action, and a natural curiosity to investigate and understand how a company works and performs through data.

The role will report directly to our SVP of Client Experience. The compensation package includes a competitive base salary, equity and benefits. Brilliant has been a fully-remote company since inception and works with team members in all continental. US time zones.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize SQL, BI software, Python, and spreadsheets to analyze, interpret, and deliver actionable insights.
  • Dashboard Ownership: Create, maintain, and optimize dashboards and reporting systems using tools like Metabase, Dbt, or Looker.
  • Ability to Learn and Interpret Complex Data Systems and Structures: Partner with engineers to understand complex data structures and translate them into user-friendly reporting solutions.
  • Delivering and Interpreting Reports for Stakeholders: Work closely with functional leaders across departments to understand their data needs and deliver strong, actionable reports and dashboards.You don’t just pull the data, you can help stakeholders make informed decisions through your analysis and interpretation of the data.
  • Self-Service Reporting: Design and implement easy-to-use reporting tools for junior-level employees, empowering them with data without needing advanced training.
  • Storytelling with Data: Present findings and insights to leadership and the broader company, helping tell the story of where Brilliant’s coming from and where it’s going with data.
  • Data System Improvements: Continuously refine processes for better data accuracy, usability, and scalability.

Requirements:

  • At least 3+ years of experience in a data analyst or business analyst role.
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets.
  • Expert-level skills in spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets), with a proven ability to automate processes, and perform complex analyses.
  • Experience owning, maintaining and implementing business intelligence tools like Metabase, Tableau, Looker, or similar.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Business, Economics, or related discipline).
  • Previous experience at a company with physical goods and fulfillment / warehouse related data.
