Senior AI/ML Development Engineer

Location: Remote, San Diego or DC

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of AI/ML models tailored for acquisition workflows.
• Develop and refine Natural Language Processing (NLP) models to support document generation and ensure compliance.
• Collaborate closely with data engineers to design and implement robust, scalable data pipelines.
• Conduct advanced testing and optimization of AI models to achieve high performance and reliability.
• Document processes, methodologies, and outcomes to ensure alignment with project goals and client requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in AI/ML development, with a strong focus on NLP.
• Proficiency in machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
• Hands-on experience with FedRAMP-compliant cloud environments.
• Strong programming skills in Python or similar languages.

Desired Qualities:

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to bridge technical and operational goals.
• Experience deploying AI solutions for large-scale datasets.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into actionable insights for stakeholders.

Security Clearance: Candidates must possess, or be eligible to receive, US DoD Secret-level Security Clearance.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with DoD ship and aircraft maintenance, shipyard maintenance.
• Navy logistics/supply experience with knowledge of MILSTRIP, MILSTRAP, DLMS, LOG-IT portfolio.
• Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) logistics environment and Accountable Property Systems of Record (APSRs).
• Experience with Department of Navy (DON) and Navy processes and policies.

Travel: Approximately 25% travel may be required.
