A Day in the Life
This position acts as a liaison for inventory topics between field-based employees (Sales Representatives, Technical Consultants, District Managers) and the internal teams (Supply Chain, Distribution, Customer Care, Marketing, Finance, Logistics, and IT).
The position is a remote role, but the successful candidate is expected to work one day per week from the Medtronic offices in Meerbusch, near Düsseldorf.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Drive field inventory initiatives in the countries with the managers, collaborating with local teams to implement effective inventory management strategies.
- Generate comprehensive inventory reports to facilitate strategic decision-making regarding stock management in various business areas, with a primary objective of cost reduction in field inventory.
- Analyze KPIs related to the international organization and derive actionable insights to improve performance in each business unit.
- Assist in implementing initiatives aimed at increasing cash flow and achieving target objectives, with a specific focus on inventory management and cost optimization.
- Monitor and analyze inventory levels within the region, identifying areas for improvement to achieve cost efficiencies.
- Collaborate closely as a strategic partner with individual business units to optimize inventory and enhance overall efficiency while keeping cost reduction in mind.
- Work closely with departments in Customer Care Operations, E-Business & Master Data Management, Finance, Project Management, and Supply Chain Management.
- Contribute to the enhancement of processes, tools, and systems within the Customer Care and Supply Chain organizations.
- Prepare and facilitate business reviews and country calls for the regions.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Controlling, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Excel, and desirable/advantageous knowledge of ERP software (preferably SAP ERP, SAP BO/BW/BI) as welll as familiarity with reporting tools (e.g. Power BI).
- Competence in identifying essential information needs, understanding business challenges, and presenting data in a compelling manner to achieve cost reduction in field inventory.
- Analytical mindset combined with a pragmatic approach and problem-solving skills.
- Structured work approach with a high affinity for change management.
- Team player with a collaborative mindset.
- Excellent written and spoken German and English language skills combined with strong communication and persuasive abilities at all levels.
Ideally, you already have first professional experience or internship experience in one of the following areas: Customer Care, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales Controlling, Sales Operations, and/or Market Analysis. Project management experience is a further asset, as well as prior experience in a large corporation with matrix structures.
