Job description

A bit about us

We’re Doccla, the virtual ward company. We provide patients and clinicians with the transformative power of remote patient monitoring.

Our existing customers are Hospitals, Community Services, and NHS Commissioners that we partner with to deliver tech enabled virtual wards. With our technology, logistics, and support patients can be discharged from a hospital ward to a virtual one and recover in the comfort of their own homes. Patients love our care pathways and health services become more efficient; it’s a win-win.

Doccla is a growing health tech startup; we have secured a £35ml at Series B, led by European VC Lakestar, with new investors French VC Elaia and existing investors General Catalyst, Speedinvest and the investment leg of German media company Bertelsmann also participating. We're solving real problems for patients and health systems and we are growing at exceptional speed. We’re looking for dedicated people with a passion for solving the problems in healthcare.

This is your chance to join us at a key stage of our growth. Our ambition is to be a category leader for virtual healthcare. You will be joining a highly entrepreneurial team that combines technical, clinical, operational, and commercial colleagues.

What Are We Looking For?

The core of Doccla’s service is our remote patient monitoring platform—our “virtual ward”—which allows clinicians to monitor patients remotely with the same level of care they would receive in a hospital, from the comfort of their homes. The platform includes a clinician dashboard for monitoring vital signs, mobile apps for patients and caregivers, and tools for managing logistics and customer service operations.

We're looking for a Product Manager to lead a new tech team focused on enhancing our platform's configuration and customisation capabilities. This team will play a pivotal role in boosting operational efficiency by developing new tools for both customers and internal teams. The role requires close collaboration with customers and our operations teams.

The ideal candidate has proven experience in product management and at least one of the following areas: medical devices, the digital health sector, or a technical background as a software engineer or similar role.

What You’ll Do

As a Product Manager, you will play a leadership role in our organization, championing the needs of users and customers while building innovative solutions that make a tangible difference in patients’ lives. You will leverage your understanding of user needs, internal processes, and business goals to deliver impactful product improvements. You’ll work closely with software engineers, designers, and cross-functional teams to execute your vision.

This role reports to the Head of Product and includes the following key responsibilities:

  • Define and Drive the Roadmap: Collaborate with your engineering team to take ownership of a specific product area. Identify user needs, operational challenges, and opportunities, define team KPIs and objectives, and create a roadmap that aligns with company goals.
  • Deliver Impact: Partnering with your engineering counterpart to deliver substantial, timely value by executing against the roadmap and hitting defined KPIs.
  • Champion User-Centricity: Conduct user research, competitive analysis, and segmentation to deeply understand your audience and market. Advocate for user needs while balancing business and technical requirements.
  • Lead Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams—including engineering, design, domain experts, and stakeholders across the organisation—to deliver seamless, high-quality solutions.
  • Leverage Data: Use data-driven insights to prioritise initiatives, craft compelling narratives, and communicate effectively across the company.
  • Shape the Vision: Contribute to the broader product strategy, vision, and team best practices, ensuring alignment across the organisation.
About You

You’re a proactive, collaborative problem-solver with a builder mentality. You thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and are eager to learn and grow in a startup setting. You have a strong sense of ownership and know how to navigate remote work, ensuring effective communication and coordination across teams.

We’re particularly interested in candidates with a background in medical devices or digital health. Whilst we prefer candidates with at least three years of product management experience, we value attitude and instincts as much as experience.

Key Attributes & Skills:
  • User-Centric Mindset: Deep empathy for users, with the ability to understand their needs and craft solutions that improve lives.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Strong analytical skills to interpret data and make informed product decisions.
  • Ownership and Accountability: A results-oriented approach with a drive to take initiative and see projects through.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Experience motivating and organizing cross-functional teams to solve complex challenges.
  • Adaptability: Comfort in a startup environment, where priorities can shift, and opportunities abound.
  • Excellent Communication: Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a remote-first environment.
  • Curiosity and Drive: A keen interest in exploring how things work and improving processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in medical devices or digital health.
  • A proven track record of success as a Product Manager, particularly in a technical domain.
  • Experience working in technology startups or highly collaborative, cross-disciplinary environments.
