Job Description:
We are seeking a curious, experienced Senior Analyst to design and build analytic solutions that will inform business decisions, drive operations, measure our performance and demonstrate our value as a company. This analytics professional services as a business partner to our Clinical Operations stakeholders, ensuring analytic insights are delivered as committed in a way that adds value.
Healthcare data is complex and vast, so you must be excited about sinking your teeth into complex problems, untangling them and communicating your findings to the team. Behind every data element is a real person, with real problems that Cityblock is working hard to address, and the Medical Economics team is responsible for delivering accurate and timely information to steer these efforts.
Responsibilities:
Advanced Data Analysis:
Lead the collection, cleaning, and analysis of complex healthcare data to identify advanced trends, patterns, and opportunities related to medical economics.
Conduct sophisticated statistical analysis to extract meaningful insights from large datasets.
Strategic Financial Analysis:
Conduct in-depth financial analysis to assess the performance and trends related to medical services, costs, and reimbursement.
Provide strategic insights into cost-effectiveness, utilization, and financial impact of healthcare programs.
Operational Excellence:
Analyze operational data at an advanced level to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings in healthcare delivery.
Collaborate with operational teams to optimize processes based on advanced data-driven insights.
Advanced Reporting and Visualization:
Create advanced reports and dashboards that go beyond basic metrics, providing nuanced insights into medical economics.
Mentor and guide junior analysts in developing impactful visualizations.
Forecasting and Modeling:
Develop and implement advanced forecasting models to predict future healthcare costs and utilization patterns.
Contribute to complex financial modeling projects to support strategic planning and decision-making.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with finance, actuarial, and other cross-functional teams at an advanced level to integrate medical economics data into broader financial planning processes.
Provide expert analytical support for decision-making across departments.
Data Quality Assurance and Governance:
Regulatory Compliance and Advanced Insights:
Stay at the forefront of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements related to medical economics.
Provide advanced insights on how regulatory changes may impact financial and operational aspects.
Leadership and Mentoring:
Provide leadership within the team, guiding and mentoring junior analysts.
Lead by example in terms of best practices in data analysis and reporting.
Establish credibility and trusted working partnerships with clinical, operational and research leaders to identify levers for broad system change, pull them, and measure and communicate the results.

Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in relevant field: computer science, data science, mathematics, economics, public health, health sciences or related field; or equivalent experience
Experience:
Prior experience within the healthcare industry
5+ years experience in advanced analytics, delivering actionable insights from data, database and big data analytics environments with a focus on medical economics
3+ years experience with business intelligence (data visualization and dashboarding) such as Tableau, Looker and multiple scripting languages (SQL, Scala, R, Python, etc)
Proficiency with SQL for multiple databases (BigQuery, standard MSSQL, PL/SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Teradata)
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Strong problem solving skills and growth mindset are essential

This role is eligible for health insurance, life insurance, retirement benefits, participation in the company’s equity program, paid time off, including vacation and sick leave. The actual offer will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate’s qualifications, years of experience, skillset, and geographic location. The expected salary range for this position is:
$127,000 - $140,000
