#About the role

We are looking for a Full-time Lead Instructor for our DevOps & Cloud Computing Bootcamp in our Remote campus. If you are passionate about cloud technology and DevOps principles, and love sharing your expertise with aspiring professionals, this role might be just for you!


#Responsibilities

  • Oversee the whole academic experience of the Ironhack bootcamp
  • Teach at our Remote campus from Monday to Friday (09:00 to 18:00)
  • Manage the Teaching Assistant and the Central Teaching Assistant to support the success of the class (if applicable)
  • Facilitate a safe, supportive, and energetic community that welcomes the various needs and learning styles of your students.
  • Challenge students to think strategically as they turn their ideas into real user experience solutions
  • Inspire and support students as they identify their passions and drive their own continued learning beyond the curriculum
  • Collaborate with Program Managers and Outcomes Managers to ensure that students achieve their professional goals (i.e., job seeking)
  • Administer assessment tasks and give students timely and accurate feedback on learning outcomes

Ironhack Experience

  • Teach core topics including DevOps principles, Agile methodologies (Scrum), Cloud Computing (AWS, Azure), container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Lead hands-on projects and activities to provide students with practical, job ready skills.
  • Ensure students master the program’s outcomes, such as distributed systems design, cloud security and performance optimization.

Collaborate with Global Team

  • Collaborate with Curriculum Engineers to improve the curriculum
  • Work with the global team in the rollout of new teaching materials
  • Adapt our global curriculum and use it to guide your teaching, build your own lesson plans as needed, and contribute back your lessons learned over time.
  • Create engaging content for our DevOps & Cloud Computing courses that may include lessons, exercises, and/or mini-projects

Community Building

  • Create a sense of community / Participate in the student experience by joining events
  • Facilitate a supportive and energetic community that lasts well beyond the course


#Requirements

  • You have 3-5 years of experience in the DevOps & Cloud Computing industry, preferably in a leadership role
  • You are fluent in English, as the classes will be imparted in that language; all in-company communication will be in english
  • You are passionate about DevOps technology.
  • You consider yourself a learner
  • You successfully created new techniques and materials
  • You can adjust lessons plan to take into account the learning success and difficulties
  • You can give clear instructions and organize an activity with guidance of the PM or TA.
  • You can alternate between teaching the whole class and pair or group work giving clear instructions
  • You have experience in managing and keeping a team motivated
  • You proactively anticipate potential problems and take the necessary action to avoid them
  • You have great communication skills and an ability to capture people's attention
  • You are organized, reliable, communicative, open to feedback
  • You enjoy teaching/mentoring others that are involved in the tech community
