Description

The Licensing Coordinator is responsible for maintaining all aspects of the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) licensing processes within the organization. This role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance with Company, State and Federal regulations related to mortgage lending. The Coordinator will be responsible for managing all Licensed Partners, Branches and the Company.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and maintain NMLS records for all Licensed Partners.
  • Preliminary review of Licensed Candidates to ensure the Candidate and Managers comprehend all requirements for licensing. 
  • Assist partners in preparing and submitting NMLS license applications and renewals accurately and on time.
  • Monitor the status of license applications and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
  • Maintain records of all license-related documentation and correspondence.
  • Assist with onboarding new Licensed Partners.
  • Assistance with bond coordination in states where required (CO, DE, etc.).
  • Responsible for scheduling and tracking Licensing Education.
  • Responsible for Renewal Compliance and Tracking.
  • Assist with scheduling fingerprints, for NMLS and specific states as needed for new licensing and renewals.
  • Responsible for issuing individual and branch license approvals.
  • Responsible for updating the Licensing Systems with all applicable Licensing Information.
  • Responsible for ensuring all costs associated with licensing are provided to Accounting.
  • Request new Branch state licensing when needed and provide any documents required based on the NMLS Checklist. 
  • Provide support to the Licensing Team.
  • Prepare licensing documentation for audits and regulatory examinations.
  • Audit licensing information as necessary.
  • Review and interpret state and federal regulations related to mortgage lending and licensing, as applicable.
  • Follow licensing strategies to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Adherence to the UHM Code of Conduct

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • 2+ years of NMLS Licensing experience.

 

 

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Strong understanding of mortgage lending regulations and NMLS licensing requirements.
  • Strong relationship building and team building skills, along with the ability to problem-solve
  • Positive and enthusiastic with the ability to act through reasoned decision making
  • Ability to work productively with initiative and drive under tight deadlines and pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to get things done and make things happen to achieve the aims of production and corporate goals
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Possess strong computer skills and competency in basic MS Office applications (Word, Excel)
  • Experience using Video Conferencing for Screen-Share Events
