PURPOSE OF POSITION

The 3(16) Consultant will work directly with Plan Sponsors and Financial Advisors to ensure the 3(16) responsibilities are fulfilled. This position will oversee all functions related to 3(16) of an assigned caseload of 3(16) plans.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primary contact for Plan Sponsors and Financial Advisors as it relates to 3(16)
  • Work directly with Retirement Plan Consultants to make sure 3(16) requirements are met
  • Creation of 3(16) annual letter – ensuring all 3(16) services were completed
  • Authorized signer for distributions and loans as required
  • Actively manage projects and tasks in PensionPro workflow system
  • Monitor/track upcoming eligibility calculations, fund change notices, annual notice distribution, and other items to ensure deadlines are meet
  • Distribute newly eligible materials and required notices
  • Oversee Payroll Submission, Payroll Monitoring and Loan Monitoring
  • Upload year end annual census
  • Represent the company on 3(16) client calls and meetings
  • Share pertinent industry knowledge with 3(16) Administrators and other staff
  • Primary contact for Plan Sponsors and Financial Advisors as it relates to 3(16)
Requirements

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • Prompt follow-up on open items with clients or internal team members
  • Demonstrates excellent attendance, punctuality, and time management
  • Conveys a professional and positive attitude while interacting with clients and internal team members
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build rapport with others remotely while working productively with limited in-person interaction

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2 years or more experience in retirement industry required.
  • Associates in Business/Accounting preferred.
  • Experience in a workflow system such as PensionPro, Pension Pal or similar
  • Intermediate MS skills to include Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; ability to navigate web-based programs


REMOTE WORKING REQUIREMENTS

  • Have access to a reliable and consistently strong, high-speed internet connection suitable for remote work. A stable, high-speed internet connection is essential for effective communication, collaboration, and productivity while working remotely
  • Designate a quiet, and well-lit space free of as many distractions as possible
  • Be online and available to work during designated business hours in local time zone
  • Accustomed to using Microsoft Teams (or similar virtual-meeting applications) to meet with colleagues regularly on video and use the chat feature for quick communications. We utilize many Microsoft Teams features (such as Channels and file storage) for announcements, relevant conversations, and file sharing. Familiarity with Microsoft Teams is a plus
  • Accustomed with file-storage and file-sharing tools such as Microsoft SharePoint
