Position Summary
The Learning Programs Manager oversees the planning, coordination, and evaluation of diverse learning events and programs. Collaborating with stakeholders and the professional learning team, they ensure seamless delivery and support, including hosting and technical assistance. The role involves leveraging learning technologies to enhance engagement, managing project workflows, and coordinating event promotions and communications across teams. They monitor key performance indicators, prepare regular reports, and analyze member behavior to drive continuous improvement. Additionally, the manager supports engagement with stakeholders, maintains expertise in current learning platforms, and promotes the organization’s visibility within the community. Staying informed on learning design and technology trends, this role drives continuous improvement and participant engagement while upholding EDUCAUSE’s reputation for excellence. Association Service and Support
Learning Experience Management
- Collaborate with stakeholders and the professional learning team to plan, deliver, and evaluate learning events throughout their lifecycle.
- Provide seamless event support, including hosting, moderating, and offering technical assistance as needed.
- Identify and utilize learning technologies and tools to enhance engagement and learning outcomes.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of interactive and applied learning experiences across the professional learning portfolio.
- Advise on external learning trends and effective practices that support continuous improvement, event attendance growth, participant engagement, participant satisfaction, and cost effectiveness.
- Promote EDUCAUSE visibility and strengthen connections with members and the broader association community.
- Maintain up-to-date expertise on learning platforms, event delivery systems, and instructional software to support learning experiences.
Event Planning, Coordination, and Project Management
- Collaboratively coordinate and support the diverse and evolving calendar of events including webinars, courses, short and extended learning programs, micro-learning, synchronous, and asynchronous learning.
- Prepare presenters and facilitators to use effective engagement strategies, focusing on interactivity, learning design, and visual quality.
- Design and implement effective and efficient project management workflows to plan, execute, and evaluate multiple events.
- Oversee internal proofing and coordination of event promotional content, and attendee communications across multiple teams including marketing, membership, publication and web support.
- Consistently monitor and report on event progress to provide timely status updates; effectively communicate the flow of events and timelines to key contributors to ensure deadlines are met.
- Collaborate with and support contractors to support event production and program development as needed.
- Support a process for Professional Pathways updates to ensure consistent quality and a positive user experience.
Analytics and Reporting
- Monitor and report on learning event performance metrics, preparing regular analyses to inform improvements.
- Manage post-event processes that involve data management, multimedia content, and issuing participant credentials.
- Monitor and analyze member behavior trends to inform marketing, event design, and delivery strategies.
- Support the preparation of event-related reports, including weekly, quarterly, and annual analyses.
- Represent EDUCAUSE in a professional manner at all times; engage with co-workers in a civil, caring, respectful way; and advance the mission and vision of EDUCAUSE.
- Participate in EDUCAUSE events and activities as needed.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Required - Bachelor's degree required with at least 5 years of work experience in professional online learning, event management or coordination OR equivalent combination of education and years of relevant professional work experience.
- Required - Experience with online and/or in-person adult or professional learning.
- Required - Experience with educational technologies, tools, and platforms.
- Preferred - Related work within higher education, an association, or nonprofit organization(s) with a deep understanding of member/customer service and support.
- Preferred - Minimum of four years' experience in project management, business administration, personnel
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Professional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to be an effective, prompt and detailed communicator.
- Technical aptitude to quickly learn and troubleshoot within web conferencing tools and other applications.
- Ability to facilitate and train others on new systems and technologies.
- Ability to work independently, and prioritize and complete diverse tasks in an efficient, timely, and well-organized manner.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues in a distributed organization.
- Online learning and event experience working in high volume production environments.
- Professional certification in online event management, project management or related discipline.
- Current working knowledge of online learning technologies to effectively engage online adult professional development.
- Knowledge or interest in adult learning theory, effective teaching and learning strategies, and online community building best practices.
- Related work within higher education or nonprofit organization(s) with a deep understanding of member/customer
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Physical demands of travel such as sitting for long periods, handling luggage, time zone changes, and adjusting to new environments.
Remote Work Requirements
- Scheduled working hours either in the employee’s time zone or EDUCAUSE core working hours to be determined with the supervisor.
- Be available and responsive during scheduled work hours.
- Any time off or change in working hours must be pre-arranged according to department guidelines and consistent with the rules applicable to employment (e.g., vacation, sick, personal, leave of absence).
Travel Requirements:
Up to 15% travel required.
