What You Will Do:
Guidehouse is seeking a candidate to provide technical oversight and monitoring support to the Federal Rail Administration’s (FRA) Office of Railroad Development (RRD) for Support, Technical, Oversight, Review, and Monitoring (STORM) program of grants, loans, and other projects. The role will have responsibility to support project management, grant management and oversight, and technical assistance for FRA freight and passenger rail portfolio projects in the Northeast, West, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Southwest, South central and Midwest regions.
This candidate will provide state grantees with technical assistance on grant reporting including review and preparation of all documents for compliance with FRA policy and budget monitoring. This candidate will support our Project Manager to promote the successful performance of program support, technical assistance, oversight, compliance reviews, and project monitoring for FRA regional grantees. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to collaborate with the internal support team as well as regularly engage with the client to discuss work products and priorities and demonstrate critical thinking skills to determine when to escalate risks and issues to leadership for quick resolution.
What You Will Need:
- 10 years of experience with a BS/BA or 7 years with a master’s or PhD.
- Management consulting experience supporting work product strategy, design, quality control and delivery; owning client relationships and addressing needs.
- Understanding of transportation industry (public and private), transportation planning and operations, and/or transportation/logistics issues.
- Demonstrated experience conducting data modeling, developing modern business methods, identifying best practices, creating, and assessing performance measurements, and providing group facilitation, interviewing, and training.
- Ability to think strategically to deliver customized and innovative solutions to the client.
- Ability to deliver high-quality work products under tight time constraints.
- Experience conducting research, doing quantitative and qualitative analysis, and assembling reports and executive briefings.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
- Familiarity with major railroad infrastructure and rolling stock projects.
- Experience tracking progress across various infrastructure grants and proposing risk mitigation and fleet management and maintenance strategies.
- Experience developing and conducting process reviews to identify and document process improvements with federal or state governments.
- Familiarity with USDOT with data collection, management, analysis, and visualization.
- Experience utilizing and applying best practices, gleaned from experience and consultation with individuals of expertise, on projects, appropriately tailoring for client and culture.
The annual salary range for this position is $113,000.00-$188,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
