Job description

Reporting to the Head of North American Commercial Business, the incumbent will be the face of Delta Faucet Company to key commercial & institutional specifiers, mechanicals, and institutions across the country with a focus on key target markets.  The incumbent will actively involve themselves with key member industry organizations including but not limited to the Mechanical Contractors Association(s), Health Engineering Society (HES), and the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE).

For success in this position, a person must understand the complex sales cycle and product lines involved in the commercial segment.  In addition, the person must have an appreciation for maintaining open lines of communication across a broad array of functional areas as well as an understanding of how to create the strategy and bring it to execution.  As our business development leader as it relates to our US commercial business, you will grow, develop, coach, and direct a broader team including the independent agency network.

Success in the role also requires productive relationships within Masco Canada, Delta Faucet Company, and other related business units.  This role would also have regular engagement with Marketing, Product Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, and S&OP Teams.

As the Director of Business Development, Heavy Commercial, you will have a dynamic role in crafting the future of Delta Commercial. This outstanding opportunity will enable you to explore new business avenues, develop innovative concepts, and implement a detailed sales strategy across the USA.

In this role, you will represent Delta Commercial to key specifiers and institutions nationwide.

Primary Responsibilities & Duties

  • Collaborate Across the Organization: Work with our dynamic team to orchestrate growth strategies in targeted territories and segments, ensuring detailed execution and alignment with company goals.
  • Develop Strong Plans: Test and validate commercial viability, showcasing Delta Commercial's expertise and standard methodologies to achieve high-reaching targets.
  • Increase External Relationships: Engage in accelerated learning and market testing, strategically resolving when to test, learn, and scale to improve opportunities.
  • Generate Fresh Perspectives: Translate innovative ideas into growth opportunities and competitive advantages, steering the company towards industry leadership.
  • Motivate and Enable: Inspire and guide your team to excel, encouraging the wider organization to accept innovative approaches and attain outstanding outcomes.
  • Conquer Complex Challenges: Collaborate with the dedicated Delta Commercial team to develop imaginative and feasible solutions, overcoming obstacles and driving success.
  • Lead with Encouragement: Cultivate creativity and motivate others to adopt changes in the heavy commercial business, positioning Delta Commercial as an inspiring leader.
  • Showcase Operational Excellence: Keep a close track of progress and report on it consistently, ensuring that all initiatives are completed in detail and uphold the highest standards.
  • Develop and Sustain Relationships: Engage with top specifiers in key markets to develop Delta Commercial specifications for projects, building strong, long-term partnerships.
  • Target New Business: Build and maintain relationships with wholesale distributors, owner groups, mechanical contractors, and property management in targeted segments to expand our market presence.
  • Participate in Trade Shows: Represent Delta Commercial at local, regional, and national trade shows, showcasing our offerings and strengthening our brand.
  • Coordinate Special Events: Lead and participate in local special event days, coordinating key segments and influencers to promote Delta Commercial.
  • Communicate with Agencies: Ensure regular communication and strategic plans are shared with our independent agencies, maintaining alignment and achieving mutual goals.

  • Growth Pipeline Value: Measure the value generated from new business opportunities, aiming for steady and significant growth.
  • Sales Target Attainment: Achieve national and key market sales targets, driving revenue and market share.
  • Master Spec Presence: Increase our presence in Master Spec, establishing Delta Commercial as a preferred choice in the industry.
  • Team Development: Mentor and develop your team, encouraging a culture of excellence and driving collective success.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree In business administration, commerce, marketing, or engineering.
  • Experience: A minimum of 7 years in business development, sales, or a related field.
  • Thought Leadership: Demonstrated ability to understand customer needs and market trends.
  • Business Intuition: Proven track record in developing and communicating compelling cases to key customers.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive groundbreaking projects.

  • Travel Flexibility: Ability to travel approximately 50% as needed.
