Overview:
QSC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer specializing in the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, building, deploying, and managing secure, scalable Azure cloud infrastructures. This role requires expertise in IoT, microservices, Kubernetes, multi-region high availability, failover, and disaster recovery. Additionally, the candidate should possess strong skills in monitoring infrastructure and ensuring application observability.
Position is a remote role.
Base Pay Range $107,000 - $156,000
The above reflects the pay range that QSC reasonably expects to pay for this role. This pay range also depends on various factors such as job duties and requirements, relevant experience and skills and geographic location. Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implement Azure-based cloud infrastructures, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability using CAF/WAF best practices.
- Lead multi-region deployment strategies leveraging Azure Front Door and Application Gateway.
- Automate deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IAC) with Bicep and manage cloud resources through CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
- Implement monitoring using Azure Monitor and Dashboards, and set up incident detection, logging, and response systems.
- Support IoT and data-intensive initiatives, including data lakes and telemetry data collection.
Cloud Architecture Design and Build
- Work with cloud architecture team to implement Azure-based cloud infrastructures, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability using CAF/WAF best practices.
- Lead multi-region deployment strategies leveraging services like Azure Front Door and Application Gateway.
Infrastructure Management & Automation
- Automate deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IAC) and manage cloud resources through CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
- Standardize infrastructure processes across environments (R&D, Dev, QA, Staging, Production, Partners).
Monitoring, Security & Incident Response
- Implement monitoring using Azure Monitor and Dashboards, and set up incident detection, logging, and response systems
- Enforce security best practices, including identity management and access control with Microsoft Entra and Azure Key Vault.
Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
- Work closely with R&D, DevOps, Data Science, and business teams to ensure cloud infrastructure meets organizational needs.
- Mentor software and DevOps engineers and provide guidance on Azure cloud architecture and security best practices.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated on Azure and cloud innovations, and recommend improvements to infrastructure design and operations.
- Explore new technologies like IoT Hub, Event Hub, and AI for enhancing solutions.
Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of hands-on experience with Azure cloud infrastructure, cloud-first architecture, and DevOps practices.
- Extensive experience in multi-region deployments and Infrastructure as Code (IAC) using Bicep and ARM templates.
- Strong background in Azure DevOps, with a focus on CI/CD pipeline management.
- Experience managing cloud applications, IoT platforms, and data solutions like Cosmos DB, Azure SQL, and Event Hub.
- Advanced knowledge of Azure infrastructure services (Web Apps, Azure Functions, IoT Hub, Cosmos DB, Event Hub, etc.).
- Expertise in cloud security, including Microsoft Entra, Key Vault, and RBAC.
- Solid understanding of monitoring/logging with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure Dashboards.
- Familiarity with networking in Azure (Virtual Networks, Load Balancers, Traffic Manager).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
- Azure Certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert) are preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Possesses advanced knowledge of Azure infrastructure services, including Web Apps, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, IoT Hub, Cosmos DB, and Event Hub.
- Demonstrates expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IAC) utilizing Bicep and ARM templates, along with automation via Azure DevOps.
- Extensive experience in cloud security, specifically within Microsoft Entra, Key Vault, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
- Thorough understanding of monitoring and logging through Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure Dashboards.
- Proficiency in networking within Azure, encompassing Virtual Networks, Load Balancers, and Traffic Manager.
- Experienced in IoT and edge computing
