Job description

Hey there! We're AKKO - a venture funded & fast-growing insurtech company with a passionate, solution-forward, and collaborative fully remote team focused on disrupting the device insurance space.

Our mission is simple – Leveraging technology to make protecting people’s tech easier and more affordable. Most people’s lives have become tech-centric and AKKO provides customers with peace of mind that their tech is safe guarded in a transparent and seamless way. Backed by amazing investors such as Mundi, Fika, and Pear, we are just getting started!

We are seeking an Events Manager responsible for creating high-impact events to strengthen our brand, engage partners and customers, and drive business growth. You’ll be a pivotal member of our Marketing team and work cross-functionally with the Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to plan and execute events that elevate AKKO’s brand and support our growth objectives. Responsibilities include event logistics, budget management, sales enablement, and promotional content creation. You’ll oversee both in-person and virtual events, ensuring every touchpoint reflects AKKO’s values and goals. You’ll thrive on the road, building relationships and managing all aspects of event planning and execution. This role offers an exciting opportunity to leave your mark as AKKO scales rapidly in the device insurance space.

THE DAY-TO-DAY

  • Travel to all events, ensuring seamless execution and maximizing the value of each conference and industry event for the team (expect 50–75% travel).
  • Manage all event logistics, including scheduling meetings, coordinating booth setup, organizing happy hours and dinners, and developing creative incentives to drive booth traffic.
  • Maintain meticulous organization by tracking attendees, managing materials, and overseeing event kits to ensure all aspects of upcoming conferences are covered.
  • Act as a brand champion, delivering a polished general sales pitch to initiate connections and smoothly hand off leads to the appropriate team members.
  • Build and nurture relationships by being a natural networker who is outgoing, approachable, and genuinely enjoys engaging with people.
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing teams to create tailored materials and presentations that align with event goals.
  • Work closely with finance to manage the event budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and tracking expenditures for each event.
  • Leverage social media platforms to drive traffic to events, promote brand awareness, and engage with the community before, during, and after events.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations, providing actionable insights to optimize future events.

WHAT MAKES YOU QUALIFIED

  • 2–5 years of experience in event marketing, marketing coordination, or a related role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Hands-on experience with HubSpot or a similar CRM/marketing automation platform.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience in B2B environments or supporting sales teams.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing best practices for event promotion.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Experience in device insurance, telecom, or adjacent industries is a plus.
  • Proven experience managing travel logistics, event planning, and conference coordination.
