The Chief Human Resource Officer has accountability for leadership, design, development, and implementation of the Fund’s HR strategy and operations in alignment with the Fund’s business priorities and goals. The CHRO is responsible for the Fund’s HR organization and oversees its budget to develop and deliver competitive, best-practice HR services and support.  The CHRO directs the development and implementation of effective HR practices, programs, policies, processes, and tools needed to support management and staff in accomplishing goals and ensures the Fund is able to attract, retain, motivate, recognize, and develop the talent essential for organizational success.  

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES 

  • Advises, consults, and coordinates with Executives and leadership on business and organization plans, succession plans, leadership and staff development, policies and practices, and legal issues, as well as other HR-related matters (strategic and operational)
  • Advises, consults, and coordinates with CFO and Controllers on personnel expenses
  • Partners with Executives and leadership to identify Fund priorities and goals and to create and drive an effective organization structure and engaged culture to accomplish them
  • Supports the CEO and Executives in Board of Trustee matters
  • Works with Executives and leadership to design and implement changes to organization structure and support change management for staff and workplace culture
  • Develops and implements staff and leadership development and skills training programs; ensures the Fund is developing talent at all organizational levels; supports a learning culture
  • Facilitates the Fund’s core, annual HR processes, including performance reviews, merit increases, talent reviews, and succession planning
  • Uses analytics and metrics to develop workforce planning and other organizational strategies to ensure the needed talent pool is available and ready for deployment
  • Ensures an effective employee value proposition with the use of best-practice recruitment approaches and tools to attract the right talent
  • Ensures that compensation and benefit programs are in alignment with the Fund’s philosophy and in place to attract and retain key talent
  • Supports and ensures leadership is proactively managing staff and team performance; facilitates appropriate responses to performance issues and mitigate organizational risk
  • Develops and implements positive employee-relations practices to ensure healthy employer-employee relationships and high employee engagement and workplace morale
  • Identifies legal requirements and government-reporting regulations affecting personnel and the organization (e.g., OSHA, EEO, ADA, ERISA, Wage & Hour, etc.); monitors legal and compliance activities to mitigate risk; ensures required reporting is completed on time; acts as the primary contact with the General Counsel and external agencies
  • Prepares and delivers regular and ad-hoc HR-related reports and analyses to Executives and leadership
  • Plans, analyzes, and evaluates programs and services, operational needs, and fiscal constraints
  • Analyzes problems, identifies, and develops alternative solutions, projects consequences of proposed actions, and implements recommendation/solutions
  • Recommends hires and promotions, directs, and evaluates employment decisions for all assigned positions
  • Assists with developing and coordinating policies and procedures

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • 15+ years of direct experience minimally
  • 10+ years of functional management experience
  • 7 ~ 10 years of direct, senior-level supervisory management experience
  • Expertise, experience, and a broad working knowledge of all facets of HR, including employment, compensation, benefits, organizational and workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, talent management, and staff and leadership development
  • Strong business acumen with emphasis in finance, HR systems, strategic planning, and communications
  • Experience managing a diverse staff directly and indirectly
  • Affiliations with successful organizations and associations that practice effective HR Management
  • Healthcare field knowledge desired
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Preferred:  Master’s degree in Business, HR, or a related field
  • Preferred:  HR-related professional certifications (e.g., CCP, CEBS, SPHR) from reputable HR industry associations
  • Preferred fluency (speak and write) in Spanish
  • 10% ~ 15% travel

Salary range for this position: Salary $240,800 - $319,000. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to: relevant experience, qualifications, expertise, certifications, licenses, education or equivalent work experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.

 

Work Schedule (may vary to meet business needs): Monday~Friday, 7.5 hours per day (37.5 hours per week) remote.
