Job Description

You’ll be the backbone of our financial operations, managing both our company’s finances and supporting our clients’ accounting needs. This position offers a unique blend of responsibilities that will keep you engaged and growing professionally. Accounting:

  • Complete financial adjustments for clients businesses directly in their system (Xero) and maintain workpapers.
  • Update and manage balance sheet reconciliation files for clients and make adjustments from the Director’s review.
  • Reconcile GST and review BAS for clients prior to the external accountants lodgement
  • Complete the accounting and bookkeeping and payroll for the Director’s business (Evolve)
  • Streamline clients chart of accounts and perform adjusting entries to correct the trial balance.

Compliance:

  • Lodge Evolve BAS and advise of payment
  • Prepare superannuation in Xero for authorisation
  • Prepare payroll tax Workpaper and Revenue NSW lodgement for clients 

Commercial Analysis:

  • Complete commercial analysis as required, utilising in-house templates where available.
  • Perform variance analysis for financials and explanations for reporting to clients

Project Management:

  • Maintain status of tasks and communicate progress through project management software (Asana)
  • Maintain folders and workpapers within dropbox
  • Ownership over Asana workflows, automation and maintaining it’s accuracy, in-line with the Director.

Administration:

  • Summarise notes from meetings and create tasks in Asana for the Director
  • Manage the director’s calendar and draft emails to client

Process improvement:

  • Find ways to do things more efficiently and improve processes and procedures
  • Create, maintain and improve templates to be re-used for clients

Qualifications

  • Xero experience
  • 3+ years experience in accounting
  • 2 years experience in a similar role
  • Experience working with Australian businesses
  • Experience in completing month end
