As a Director for Business Intelligence Solutions, you will take ownership of product strategy and development for our BI offerings. With a strong developer background and a deep understanding of the technical aspects of BI tools, you will bridge the gap between business needs and technical execution. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including engineering, data science, and design—to define and deliver BI features that help businesses unlock the full potential of their data.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and has a track record of successfully driving technical products from concept to delivery.

Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:

  • Lead the strategy, vision, and roadmap for BI solutions, ensuring alignment with the company’s broader objectives. Define clear goals and outcomes that drive customer and business success.

  • Bring technical expertise to the table by defining technical requirements, collaborating on architecture decisions, and guiding the development teams on how to best implement BI solutions. Leverage developer background to ensure feasibility, scalability, and performance of product features.

  • Engage with business stakeholders and end-users to gather requirements, document user stories, and translate them into actionable product features. Use technical knowledge to identify and solve complex problems.

  • Work closely with engineers, data analysts and business stakeholders to build solutions that meet both functional and technical requirements. Foster collaboration between teams to ensure smooth execution and delivery.

  • Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring that the most impactful features are developed first. Lead sprint planning, grooming, and reviews, while ensuring that the product evolves in an agile, iterative manner.

  • Drive decisions around the integration, implementation, and optimization of BI solutions. Ensure that the team leverages the most appropriate tools, platforms, and data architectures (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Qlik, AWS, Google Cloud, etc.).

  • Analyze product performance, gather feedback from end-users, and continuously improve the product. Leverage data analytics to refine and optimize BI solutions, ensuring they remain ahead of market trends.

  • Stay current with emerging trends in business intelligence, analytics, and data technologies. Conduct competitor analysis and incorporate industry best practices into product development.

Technical Knowledge and Understanding:

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and trouble shooting skills

  • Accuracy and attention to detail is critical

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset and an ability to make data-driven decisions.

  • Familiarity with BI backend technologies (e.g., database management, data pipelines, and data processing frameworks) and front-end BI tools.

  • Proven background as a software developer or engineer with experience building and maintaining BI solutions.

  • In-depth knowledge of BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Qlik, etc.) and data visualization best practices.

  • Strong understanding of data architectures, ETL processes, and data modeling techniques.

  • Leadership and teamwork abilities, with a collaborative and hands-on approach to working with cross-functional teams

  • Ability to balance customer needs with technical feasibility and business goals.

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Agile, Scrum, BI tools certifications) are a plus.

  • 15+ years of experience as a Technical Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in a data-driven or technology company.

  • Strong experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban) and delivering technical products.

  • Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and working knowledge of data lakes, data warehouses, and Big Data environments.

  • Proficiency in SQL, API integrations, and scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, etc.) to understand and communicate technical aspects of the product.

  • Expertise in writing detailed user stories, creating product roadmaps, and managing product backlogs.
