POSITION SUMMARY
Alterra Mountain Company is looking for a Sr. Infrastructure Project Manager to manage a variety of Enterprise level IT infrastructure consolidation projects, including Domain Consolidation, datacenter hardware and software consolidation, and other infrastructure focused projects. This individual will be responsible for overall technical project coordination between the enterprise and resort teams, establishing and implementing project management processes and adhering to Alterra’s program methodology (Business and IT communities) to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, comply with high quality standards, meet customer expectations, provide high quality reporting to business stakeholders, and developing consistent and thorough KPI dashboards. The ideal candidate will have a generalized yet functional understanding of IT infrastructure, operations, security, with a history of project management in these disciplines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
General Responsibilities
Assume primary responsibility for project leadership and facilitating completion and communication on all project deliverables, including project charters, phase driven schedules, project timelines and key milestones, status reporting and KPI dashboards, resource plans, budgets, etc.
Responsible for planning and managing implementation of infrastructure focused solutions, including requirements definition, facilitating system design, testing, deployment, training, and communication to align with resort and enterprise operations.
Provide regular, professional, and appropriate communications to project team members, department heads, business sponsors, and senior leadership. Proactively identify, track, and resolve issues, risks and dependencies associated with projects managed, and communicate risks and issues to the project team and senior leadership. Identify and implement issue resolutions. Lead risk management identification and mitigation plans.
Create strong relationships within business lines and learn the business in order to identify needs and deliver value as well as relationship management with key technology leaders that have a long history in defining and maintaining their areas of responsibility.
Responsible for partnering with organizational leaders to assess strategic goals and alignment, defining, and designing operational and/or policy-based solutions, defining comprehensive change management strategies, managing the implementation and integration with operational departments, and establishing metrics of long-term project success.
Work with other PM’s to identify project interdependencies that may affect project success.
Possess and demonstrates knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tool, facilitation skills, and change management techniques.
Education:
Experience:
5+ years direct project management experience; defining project scope, developing schedules, budget estimates, resource planning, and risk assessment/mitigation planning with complex business and IT projects.
3+ years’ experience in managing IT infrastructure projects such as server/network implementation, data center commissioning/migration, and Active Directory migration.
Experience using program and project processes and methodologies and implementing processes, projects across multiple levels of the organization, including building consensus, ensuring alignment and understanding, and adept tracking of multiple workstreams.
Experience working successfully with both technical resources and non-technical stakeholders and staff.
Qualifications:
Systems implementation project experience including requirements gathering, system vendor selection, functional and technical solution design, business process design and workflow, testing and user acceptance, deployment, and organizational change management and communications.
Functional knowledge of technology infrastructure and operations domains such as networking (WAN, LAN, firewalling, etc.), systems (servers, virtualization, Active Directory), database and application hosting, endpoint computing (PCs, user identity and access permissions), and general IT Operations (monitoring, alerting, ticketing, SLA’s, etc.).
Basic knowledge of Active Directory related services and functions such as DNS, DHCP, certificate services, etc. is highly preferred.
A self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication abilities; analytic, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Experience successfully managing several transformative projects from conception through implementation.
Strong attention to detail and willingness to ask questions or perform research to develop a deep technical understanding.
A team player that motivates project team, drives project to success, and influences large cross-functional teams without direct reporting responsibility.
A high degree of perseverance, adaptability, and tolerance for ambiguity. Comfortable shifting focus as project priorities shift or unexpected events arise.
Ability to work under deadline pressures and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and other Alterra employees.
Ability to effectively manage several projects in parallel.
Advanced competency with MS Office toolset including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and project management tools and software.
Project Management Professional (PMP) desired.
The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Alterra Mtn Co Shared Services Inc. salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of the Company's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.
Denver area base salary range: $100,000 - $130,000 per year
