Overview:
The CIS Services Sales Development Specialist is part of the Sales and Business Services department, which resides on the CIS Services team and reports to the Director of CIS Services. As our Sales Development Specialist, you will identify and develop sales opportunities through U.S State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial (SLTT) grant funding and contracts. You will establish relationships with potential SLTT customers to strategically expand our reach and convey a strong understanding of CIS cybersecurity solutions. The Sales Development Specialist will be responsible for developing, writing, planning, designing, and delivering responses to requests for proposals (RFPs) that support our CIS strategic sales objectives and SLTT government entities. You will review technical information of CIS products and services and translate it into information that is customized and compelling to SLTT government entities.

Salary Range: $73,900 - $127,400

What You'll Do:
- Develop and execute strategic responses to requests for proposals (RFPs) from prospective SLTT customers and channel partners
- Conduct market research and develop a strong understanding of SLTT grants and funding
- Research and identify potential customers and sales opportunities for our CIS products and services through grant funding and contracts
- Formulate response drafts, ensuring alignment with external customer and internal business requirements
- Articulate the value proposition and brand of CIS Services and translate technical responses into easy-to-understand messaging
- Collaborate cross functionally with Product, Sales, Marketing, and Legal teams to ensure a clear articulation and understanding of our offerings, solutions, and value
- Coordinate RFP activities and communications, such as conference calls, meeting recaps, project plans, follow-up, and follow-through
- Serve as the point of contact for any questions or clarification requests related to the RFP process
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field*
- 4+ years of experience in procurement processes, including grant funding and researching and writing responses to RFPs, specifically in a government setting
- Proven ability in building and maintaining successful relationships with prospective and existing customers and channel partners
- Strong technical aptitude and the ability to communicate advanced technical concepts
- Customer relationship management (CRM) experience, especially Salesforce
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams
- Strong project management and time management skills
- High attention to detail, with the ability to craft a compelling narrative
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
It's a Plus if You Have:
- Technical selling experience in IT software or hardware
- Experience working with state, local, tribal, and/or territorial governments
*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
