Description

POSITION: Sales Director, Medical Protection

LOCATION: Remote

 

The Sales Director, Medical Protection is responsible for leading a sales team and achieving maximum contribution to volume and profit objectives for Mativ’s Medical Protection Business with a main focus in wound care.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, coach, and manage all activities related to direct reports, Medical Protection Strategy and commercialization of new/ existing products. Ensure alignment of goals and objectives for the sales team relative to overall team and Mativ business strategies.
  • Sponsor of commercial views when it comes to leveraging our Global manufacturing capabilities for new and existing business opportunities and corresponding product development. Act as senior ‘Voice of the Customer’.
  • Act as Commercial Voice of the Customer in S&OP discussions.
  • Ensure the proper training and development of all sales staff to meet the needs of the business unit and individual employees. Accompany Account and Sales Managers on significant sales meetings and calls.
  • Coordinate development of sales / account plans to maximize customer satisfaction with the aim of increasing Mativ’s profitability.
  • Ensure the same sales processes are implemented for consistent reporting of information to both internal and external customers. This includes processes for negotiation strategy preparation and execution.
  • Oversee the implementation of all product management activities for the product lines to ensure that long term strategic planning and program implementation meet Mativ’s long term growth and profit objectives. This includes sales forecasting and budgeting activities within the scope of responsibility.
  • Implement policies and programs in the areas of sales, pricing, and related activities.
  • Direct cross functional teams for sales, product management, marketing, quality, R&D, legal and operations to effectively address both Mativ’s and customers’ needs on a timely basis.
  • Maintain effective communication with the principal and all internal and external support personnel to ensure commitment to attaining the assigned business volume and financial objectives.
  • Oversee development of strategy / product plans for / markets, including:

1)      Targeted volumes

2)      Pricing / profitability

3)      Resources & Investments

4)      Global Initiatives (linked to Strategic Mativ initiatives)

5)      New Product Support/Launch

 

  • Provide responsive recommendations and insights on market trends for short- and long-range planning.
  • Work closely with Sales Managers to develop sales strategy for each account considering an insight on key customer expectations.
  • Define and quantify opportunities for the region, market, and customer.
  • Champion Sales Management standards for the globe.
  • Work with corporate legal staff in development of patents, trademarks, copyrights, and other matters of legal consequence. Secure legal approval of all sales promotion and advertising material as needed.
  • Assure that information is furnished to internal departments as necessary to control inventory levels while meeting customer delivery requirements.
  • Maintains a high standard of professional performance, concern for business needs, and consideration of people.

 

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Business/Finance or a Technical Field is required and an advanced degree is preferred. The incumbent must have a strong technical knowledge of the process and technical capabilities of all Mativ Filtration and Advanced Material products. and an extensive knowledge of the international industry and marketplace, as well as a general understanding of the paper industry.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Experience in the B2B wound care market.

Experience of 7 more years in sales, manufacturing, research & development and/or quality with a proven record of increasing responsibility and achievement is a must.

Sales leadership and sales experience is required to manage regional sales team.

Must possess skills in areas such as leadership, organization, analysis, planning, customer services, human resource development, legal and logistics;

Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
