Job description

Job Functions, Duties, Responsibilities And Position Qualifications

Under minimal supervision, the LIS System Specialist will collaborate with various SHUSA DermPath Division departments, clients, and stakeholders to gather and document processes and workflows. The LIS System Specialist will identify areas for process improvement and recommend solutions to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. This person will provide support to laboratory teams for the LIS and its related processes and functions, which includes troubleshooting issues and training new users.

Location - Remote

Hours: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (MT)

Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Acts as liaison between client and PW teams
  • Collaborates with staff to thoroughly understand the needs to be supported by our labs and our LIS.
  • Provides recommendations regarding the evolution of the system.
  • Responds to inquiries and provides advice to the client regarding current and potential system inputs, processes, and outputs.
  • Develops and communicates detailed specifications for implementation of new features.
  • Maintains and ensures proper documentation and coordinates or performs testing of system modifications.
  • Collaborates with the lab and engineering teams to ensure the needs of the client and labs have been met.
  • Researches and analyzes the nature, effect, and results of process and system difficulties.

Skills And Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workplace or related software program.
  • Extremely organized with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to change.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Education And Experience

  • Associate's degree in Medical System, Histology, Information Technology, Business, or related field, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • At least three years of related experience.
  • OR any acceptable combination of education, certification(s), and experience.
