How will I help?

The Executive Manager, Operational Risk provides 2LOD Risk Advice, oversight and challenge to our Insurance (General & Life) as well as Product Chapter businesses. Coordinate and assist in drafting key risk reporting; driving increased risk maturity, promoting better practice of Non-Financial Risk management and creating a culture that balances risk and reward.

Reporting into the Head of Risk CTB, CBCE & Insurance, you will provide Business Unit Facing 2LOD Risk Advice, Oversight and Challenge for General Insurance, Life Insurance and Product Chapter businesses. You will assist the Head of Risk to manage dCRO plan updates in JIRA as well as both contribute to and coordinate risk insight reporting. You will also assist the Head of Risk when business disruption events occur.

You will lead oversight activities across Insurance businesses to meet policy requirements including risk & control assessments, key indicators assessment, emerging risks, business continuity management, data risk management, third party suppliers and outsourcing, scenario analysis, risk appetite settings and annual reviews of controls, issue & incident management, and root cause analysis. You will attend the key risk & governance forums as the lead 2LOD representative.

The role will also see you:

  • being the lead 2LOD Risk partner for Insurance and Product Chapter businesses including managing relevant business relationships.
  • drafting and coordinating with other risk classes, 2LOD reporting – internal and external.
  • providing oversight of Issues and Incidents.
  • participate in working groups and Steer-Cos relating to material business projects, incidents and change initiatives
  • provide advice and oversight of key Risk policies
  • escalate material matters to the Head of Risk.

What do I need?

To be successful in this role you will have 10-15 years of Operational Risk experience, with strong knowledge of frameworks and stakeholder management. You will have a strong understanding of Consumer and Business banking and have great report writing skills. Additionally, being proficient in Jira will be advantageous.
