Position Overview:
We are seeking a driven and experienced Business Development Manager to lead the growth of our life sciences practice. In this role, you will leverage your industry expertise to identify opportunities, develop strategic partnerships, and drive new business acquisitions within the life sciences sector. This position plays a critical role in positioning our organization as a trusted leader in AI and data-driven transformation for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, and related industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive new customer acquisition: Develop and execute strategies to identify, target, and win new SMB and enterprise clients in the life sciences sector, including diagnostic, pharmaceutical, biotech, and healthcare organizations, focusing on companies ready for AI and data-driven transformation.
  • Generate and qualify leads: Proactively generate a robust pipeline of new business opportunities through various channels, including networking, industry events, partnerships, and targeted outreach campaigns.
  • Develop new revenue channels: Identify and establish new revenue streams, develop strategic partnerships, and create innovative service offerings that address emerging AI and data needs.
  • Close high-value deals: Lead complex sales cycles from initial contact to contract signing, articulating Provectus's value proposition and navigating client organizations to secure commitments.
  • Exceed revenue targets: Set and achieve ambitious revenue goals for new business acquisition, consistently meeting or exceeding quarterly and annual targets.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments within life sciences to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Craft winning proposals: Collaborate with proposal teams to develop compelling, tailored proposals and presentations that effectively communicate Provectus' unique AI and data solutions to prospective clients.
  • Build alliances with complementary organizations and stakeholders to enhance our offerings and reach within the life sciences domain.
  • Cross-functional leadership: Work closely with marketing, product development, and delivery teams to align business development efforts with Proventus' capabilities and ensure seamless handoff of new clients.
  • Represent Provectus: Act as a brand ambassador at high-profile industry events, conferences, and networking forums to raise the company's profile and generate new business leads.

  • Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of consistently exceeding new business targets in technology consulting in life sciences or healthcare domains.
  • Experience selling to (or working with) diagnostic,  BioTech, or BioPharma companies. 8+ years of experience in business development or sales roles, with a demonstrable history of winning new logos and opening new markets within regulated industries.
  • Understanding or interest in AI, machine learning, data analytics, cloud data technologies, and their business applications in life sciences (e.g., bioengineering, drug discovery, patient insights, clinical trial optimization).
  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) and understanding cloud-based AI solutions is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional networking and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and influence life sciences C-level executives.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, adept at articulating complex AI and data concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage and close complex, high-value, long-cycle sales processes.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to identify new market opportunities and develop effective go-to-market plans in the life science industry.
  • A bachelor's degree is required; an MBA or advanced degree in a relevant technical field, bioengineering, or life sciences is a strong plus.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to meet prospective clients and attend industry events.

  • What We Offer:
  • The competitive compensation package includes a base salary with performance bonuses and a commission plan tied to a new business acquisition. The salary range is determined through interviews and a review of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, and alignment with market data. OTE 300-$400k.
