Job Opportunity: Medical Virtual Assistant for Light-Tunnel Behavioral Health Services

Position: Full-Time Medical Virtual Assistant

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM EST

Hours: 40+ hours per week

Salary:  $5 to $6 per hour (depending on experience)


Responsibilities: The Medical Virtual Assistant will play a key role in ensuring smooth administrative operations while supporting the mission of Light-Tunnel Behavioral Health Services. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


Administrative Tasks:


  • Appointment scheduling and sending reminders.
  • Managing patient records with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Handling patient inquiries and correspondence promptly and professionally.
  • Managing telehealth platforms to ensure seamless virtual sessions.


Medical Billing and Insurance Support:


  • Expertise in medical billing processes, including claims submission and insurance verification.
  • Processing claims through portals such as Availity, Optum, etc.
  • Working with Medicare and Medicaid to ensure accurate billing and payment.


Medical Coding:


  • Accurately coding patient records and ensuring compliance with coding standards.

  • Social Media and Communication Management:


    • Creating content and scheduling posts for social media platforms.
    • Monitoring and managing social media accounts for engagement and growth.
    • Managing email and text communication, including sorting, responding, prioritizing, and sending newsletters.


    Additional Responsibilities:


    • Assisting with provider support and ensuring clinical workflows run smoothly.
    • Preparing and maintaining documentation in Charm EHR (preferred).
    • Supporting the billing process with a high degree of expertise and accuracy.


    Key Qualifications:


    • Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to interpret and follow instructions accurately.
    • Prior experience in a healthcare setting, such as a medical office, doctor’s office, psychiatric clinic, or similar environment.
    • Strong clinical or medical office background.
    • Familiarity with Charm EHR is preferred.
    • Goal-driven, reliable, and capable of completing tasks with minimal supervision.
    • Proficient and fast learner who can quickly adapt to new systems and processes.
    • High level of professionalism and attention to detail.
