Job Overview

We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Vice President of Real Estate Development to join our innovative healthcare organization. In this pivotal remote role, you will lead the development of a robust pipeline of healthcare facilities, partnering with health systems nationwide to implement a transformative hybrid ER and Urgent Care model. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Development, you will shape and execute our real estate strategies, driving success through effective site selection, development, construction, and asset management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the daily operations of real estate development for a pipeline of over 60 new sites.
  • Navigate intricate relationships with partner health system leadership teams to secure necessary approvals.
  • Ensure your team consistently meets ambitious budgets and timelines across design, development, and construction phases.
  • Collaborate with real estate analytics and leadership teams to pinpoint new markets for strategic expansion.
  • Oversee the successful launch of new ER/Urgent Care facilities.
  • Evaluate and authorize real estate decisions for all new ventures.
  • Manage procurement of equipment and oversee ongoing service contracts.
  • Collaborate closely with finance, legal, implementation, and operational teams.
  • Maintain accountability for team performance through regular reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Mentor and develop future leaders within the team, fostering a culture of growth.
  • Articulate a compelling vision for success within your areas of responsibility.
  • Analyze market data to identify trends and create strategies for capacity expansion and growth.
  • Prepare and present deal memos, proformas, and strategic presentations.
  • Position the real estate portfolio for sustained profitability and market relevance.
  • Monitor site performance and drive continuous improvements to enhance productivity and service quality.
  • Prepare materials for Board of Directors meetings and provide analyses for investors and Board members.

Required Skills

  • Master's degree preferred (MBA, healthcare management, real estate).
  • Minimum of 10 years in a senior strategic leadership role.
  • Demonstrated management experience in a relevant real estate setting (e.g., retail or multi-site healthcare).
  • Strong attention to detail coupled with exceptional prioritization skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Proven capacity to motivate, mentor, and lead direct reports and broader teams.
  • Ability to cultivate strong relationships and achieve common goals with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Expertise in recruiting, retaining, and developing high-performing real estate teams.
  • Proficiency in managing a substantial pipeline and portfolio.
  • Capacity to handle competing priorities in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
  • Executive presence with strong communication skills across all organizational levels, including senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
