Location: Atlanta, GA, USA

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Real Estate Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This crucial role is responsible for ensuring precise financial reporting across our diverse portfolio of multifamily communities. This opportunity allows you to play a vital part in the financial success of a rapidly growing real estate organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements for assigned properties, ensuring precision and adherence to accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with property management teams to formulate and manage property budgets, providing variance analysis and recommendations for enhancements.
  • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and maintain meticulous accounting records.
  • Review and scrutinize property expenses, identifying opportunities for cost savings and ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints.
  • Support external audit coordination and tax preparation by providing necessary documentation and assistance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting regulations and company policies.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including property management and finance, to address accounting inquiries and provide financial insights.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA or relevant professional certification is advantageous.
  • 1-3 years of experience in property accounting within the real estate sector or relevant experience as an Audit Associate in a CPA firm.
