About the role

Reporting to the Company Secretary the Governance Specialist, ensures best practice governance by supporting Board committees, controlled entities, and the Australian General Practice Research Foundation. The role includes developing and implementing governance policies and providing advice to improve governance practices. Key stakeholders include the Board of Directors, senior leaders, and Board committee members.

As our Governance Specialist, you'll also:

  • Provide secretariat support to Board committees, the Australian General Practice Foundation, and related entities, including meeting coordination, documentation, and action tracking.
  • Collaborate on the development, implementation, and review of governance policies, practices, and compliance frameworks.
  • Act as a governance advisor, supporting RACGP teams, managing conflicts of interest, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor adherence to policies and compliance matters and communicate findings to the Company Secretary and senior leaders as necessary.


Skills & Experience

  • Strong governance and compliance experience in complex settings.
  • Policy design and implementation
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage conflicts of interest.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint, and virtual meeting tools.
