Role Overview

We are seeking a Director of Business Development to drive growth and build strong partnerships with decision-makers in the investment industry. This is a senior-level role requiring a proven track record of selling outsourced managed services to private equity firms, investment funds, and other financial institutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the finance industry, a strong network, and the ability to independently source, qualify, and close high-value deals.


Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Sales Strategy

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy targeting mid-market to enterprise clients in the finance industry.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads through your existing network and strategic outreach.


2. Client Relationship Management

  • Leverage your book of business to establish and deepen relationships with decision-makers in private equity and investment funds.
  • Understand and address client pain points, particularly in areas such as due diligence, compliance, and operational efficiency.


3. Revenue Generation

  • Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly KPIs focused on revenue generation and client acquisition.
  • Independently manage the entire sales cycle, from lead sourcing to contract negotiation and closure.


4. Team Leadership

  • Oversee and mentor a small team of business development professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align sales strategies with company goals.


5. Industry Expertise & Value Articulation

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of investment fund operations, financial workflows, and the outsourcing value proposition.
  • Effectively communicate the value of technology-augmented transcription solutions tailored to the due diligence and investment process.


Qualifications/Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in business development, with a focus on selling outsourced services to the finance/investment industry.
  • Proven track record of managing and growing a book of business in private equity, investment funds, or financial services.
  • Experience with mid-market to enterprise sales cycles and achieving revenue targets.
  • Deep understanding of private equity, investment funds, and the due diligence process.
  • Familiarity with the transcription industry or a strong ability to quickly learn and adapt to it.
  • Exceptional networking, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong grasp of technology-augmented services and how they add value to operational workflows.
  • Ability to thrive as an independent contributor while effectively leading and mentoring a team.
  • Established network within the finance/investment community in the US, Canada, or UK.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events as needed.
